Being it’s a 454, this is extremely common. If it’s blowing through coils like that you should probably check what’s causing that… being it’s a 454, there’s a laundry list of problems that would cause that from coolant temp to electrical problems… you’re just gonna keep wasting money unless you figure out the primary issue, other than it being a 454 of course…

It could be as simple as a wire that is nearly broken, bad connection on a plug or a bad ground causing the coil to overheat.

My dad had me so nervous recently. Wanted to fix a noise from the car I use that came last time he worked on it and since we have a second one of the same he lifted that one up(with a tractor because a jack was to slow for him) and put 2 jack stands under it, 2 big solid ones. Problem came when he wanted to do the same with the other car as apparently someone is borrowing some jack stands, he found a small one and one half bent, straightened it out a bit with a crowbar and said good enough. he put the smaller one on top of a log, 2 of the legs 1/3 of the way outside of it, but due to the size of the log the other jack stand needed to be raised to the max, actually 1 notch above the max so the locking pin was in fact not locking the 2 pieces together, simply just stopping it from going back down into it, so now this one was going at a bit of an angle, he lowered the car down and it was resting at an angle because even now they weren't the exact same height, this is something he was seemingly comfortable being underneath...

I have all the parts for mine. Firewall tub kit fender tub kit, the reklez hood hinges . The front bagged kit is the phat phabz kit and the rear is that same ektensive kit. Except i also got the alex V watts link. The only thing i did so far was the step notch. Also a 2 piece driveshaft. Im in florida if you wana come help install and film everything lol

i don't trust jacks couple of days ago an accident happened like this to a guy where the jack fell on him while fixing his car luckily the car was on a slope but he was seriously injured still and it shattered his shoulder the doctor said he was lucky if it wasn't flat on the road otherwise it would of crushed him

Check grounds, check wires. When I went to MSD I upgraded wires as well. 8mm-10mm. A factory coil will get you by like what you're doing but like you said you keep a spare. Smart man, should be a simple fix. I love it

If the ballast resistor is bypassed, it will blow coils.
