Jay this was absolutely great video especially for beginners who are looking at getting into tournaments. There were some great points and as a bass angler with the rush of measuring the fish and getting back into the water your anxiety is running a little crazy. Another big rule you have to look at is when is the last fish caught allowed to be uploaded, say for instance lines out at 3:00 can a fish be uploaded at 2:59, 3:00 or 3:59. I’ve seen this cause anglers to lose that last fish, losing the inches of that fish and putting you into another bracket. So a differently important rule to be clarified before the tournament starts!! Jay you are really knocking out the park with these shows so important for the beginner angler keep it up cause I’m getting excited listening to them! Jay Thank you tight lines and God bless!❤❤❤

I recommend the brand adventure medical kits. I use the .5 for backpacking and all outdoor activities. It’s watertight, lightweight, and bright yellow so it’s easy to find/see. Has everything you would need and probably extra. For just kayak fishing, you could probably get one of their smaller kits, I just like having a solid all around kit for when I’m outdoors.

Just observing human behaviors. Throughout the observing I seen bass boats start out. Everyone had to get one. It was one person's duty to out due the next guy's boat. It's just a battle as to who can afford the latest and greatest expensive gadgets. The game becomes un-win-able and turns into a rich person's game to even keep up. Which was pointless. The whole idea behind kayak fishing was to simplify going fishing. Thow a boat in the back of the truck or RV roof top and go. Now there is getting so much garbage mounted on these new kayaks. All getting VERY heavy and full of electronics. And now many are looking better sitting on a trailer for launching. So then, what is the purpose of the kayak. Might as well just stick with a bass boat. By far more room to move around and for sure more stable. I know in some states with kayaks, if you start adding any sort of electric drive or engine power. One has to register and license them. What is the point then. Bass boat still is ahead. A good fisherman doesn't need all that fancy expensive garbage. Most only use that stuff 0.5% of the time anyway. I really like kayaking, I have 7 of them at the moment. Several different designs for different purposes, and I have my bass boat. I just have a hard time seeing the purpose of these super heavy kayaks all loaded up with garbage gear and pointless electrons. Just sort of defeats the whole purpose of kayaking. Too each their own, I guess. Just my thoughts and observation!

I bought 9 hobies and all of them combined cost less then 3k so would have to say false. 4 are transducer ready. Granted they didn’t all have everything some were just hulls and I got the rest along the way…like an md180 v2 drive for 50 bucks 2019 outback hull for 180. 2020 revolution 13 hull 250. (2) 2015 revolution 13 kayaks with sails larger rudders sidekick amas all ready to go for 1k for both. 2012 revolution 11 hull 60 bucks. One hobie owner here that has nothing but love if you got in for less but still want to reach for something nice.

Had to come back and say Garmin striker 4s are decent size for a kayak and next to free anymore. Have been getting the 44cv and 44 plus lately for the low to toss on these things. Couple others were tandem with drives and seats for 150 had couple repairs I deleted and did the right way with a leister and mesh patches. Figured a tandem would be solid to toss out there from time to time. 09 mirage suv 100 bucks and I use it as my learning kayak as it was once red but now orange and had several cracks from being left out in the sun. 120 220 330 grit and hot air for repairs and shine the bottom is now glossy and there’s a bit of pride in that kayak even though I’ve never taken it out yet. Shurhold dual action polisher is nice toy to use on these. Got one for 30 add another 80 or so for pads backing plates and sanding discs. Leister was 100 and a variety of Amazon welding tips like tac and different plastic feed welder tips were 40 for a bit nicer of a set then cheapest. Save your money folks for the toys like say the minn kota trolling motor and battery I got for 50 bucks used once. Will be modding the mirage plug for use soon. Deals exist if you want them hunt and you will find what you are looking for. Seeing bixpy j1s all over for about 600 with battery rn and it’s got my curiosity even though I know the 50 dollar overkill setup I got will outperform it and it won’t be all that close

1- that thing is begging for a solar panel lid charging system to a small USB battery bank. Then you have lights inside the box and on the yak for night fishing. Harbor freight has control switches and ammo boxes, you can make a sweet set up with LEDs. 2- I use an old soldering iron to melt that annoying little piece on the zip tie after you cut it. It flattens it out and makes the zip even stronger against backing out. 3- Anyone with an inflatable, YES this DIY is for you too! Just grab a pool noodle and put a notch/slit in two pieces equal to the length of the side of your crate and zip tie them into place. Cut a piece for any other area of the crate that touches the yak and repeat. Use bungees to secure it to the eyelets on the back of your yak. great vid! 🎣

Question for ya dude…love your videos and am just starting to think about moving from the bank into a kayak. I primarily fish small lakes along the Colorado Front Range. Anyway, been watching a lot of walkthroughs and setups and rarely see someone have a permanent/dedicated space for an actual cooler for food and beverages. Is that not much of a thing or are folks just skipping it?

What are the kayaks that you buy for paddling but upgrade later for pedal or motor. Also what is the best paddle kayak that you can just upgrade to a motor later in your opinion. I just feel right now buying a motor is cheaper than the drive systems out there.
