I think if you have extra money already intended to use for something then it’s true you don’t have it. It isn’t lying if you say you don’t have it to spare. I never tell family how much money I have I just say no bc they gonna ask anyway whether I have it or not.

Stopping by to show Yanely some love. Bought your book at launch. You helped me change my mindset around. I now have a HYA with Discover w $12,000 stacking. 401K is on aggressive mode w company match. Got 2 credit cards working FOR me w NO balances carried over each month.. and credit score is over 720 now. Also, though, I'm a little conflicted about this because it isn't fair, but Biden Admin just forgave my $14,000 Barber School loan 2 weeks ago ( Ive been paying it down since graduation ). Life is good now a days. Thank you.

Seven is probably optimum. Just like a cross-country team: 5 scorers and 2 displacers.

It's okay to close a card you've only had 2 years if the bank is holding you back (Capital One...cough cough) and your average account age for all your accounts is greater than 2 years. If you're oldest account is 15 years and your average age is 5 years, you'll get a little FICO boost closing an account that's 2 years old. And maybe Capital One will learn something...you're not playing around 😂😂 Note: My example refers to myself, and I dropped my total accounts from 18 to 17, with an average combined balances less than $500 monthly.

Probably three banks' cards are most helpful for building credit: Chase - They report when a card is paid off mid cycle, as well as on the statement date. AMX - AMX sees the exact details of what you are charging, so they know you very well, much better than the credit bureaus who are just guessing. Discover - Same reason as AMX.

I just got my credit card still waiting for it in the mail but it says ( my due date is July3 and that they’ll let me know my minimum on June 8 ) my credit limit rn is 300 I only plan to use 10% if that’s the case can I just pay in full on the due date with out having to worry about the statement date . My utilization would be low plus I would pay on time . Would that be all I have to be concerned of I know if I use more I should try and pay it down for it to be reported less but it’s just hella confusing .

I notice when banks talk about overdraft protection on tv commercials, they use black people. When they show responsible people financing life changing things, they use white people or the black woman is sitting quietly while the white husband handles everything. But then when its a white wife with a black man, the black man is irresponsible while the white wife handles it all A lot of that may or may not be true in some cases but damn, these commercials don't even try to hide their racist views

Taking out another credit card to raise your credit score? No--for most people you're just setting yourself up for trouble. No one needs 5 credit cards. No wonder Americans have more debt than other countries.

since nobody else did this for the hs students doing the 10.5 packet here: a) general investing/ pay your taxes now. b) waiting later to pay taxes later, leaving money in an account. think 401k, 403b, traditional ira. c) put money in an account to grow for 5 years, you can take out the original money but not the growth. all taxes already paid 2: a i guess 3: taxes are paid and you can take money out after 5 years with no penalty

Citibank never reports to TransUnion. Citibank is INEPT and often fails to report monthly balances to Equifax. Their laziness can cause credit scores to drop. Shame!!!!

The worst part is saying, sorry No. I have my own debts to pay, and then they become nasty. Especially if they have a gambling addiction.
