Question to other tama drummers out there... I just purchased an older 2003 Tama bubinga kit... bassdrum shell was really wobbly and easy to bend with no drumheads or hoops attached. Is that normal??? I'm not used to starclassic and wondering if thickness had something to do with it... but I'm worried this used kit is a lemon because of past water damage or something...

Hi Will, I know your video is from 10 years ago, hope you are still responding to questions, I love the way you have managed to override all the set ups and assign the percussion sounds to each additional pad or cymbal direct from the brain without any configuration on the TMC 6 , a hell of a lot easier than the tutorials from Roland , I have a TMC 6 with the Roland Td 20, it was packed away for a coupled years while moving and restoring my new basement, now the kit is set up but I can't get the additional pads to work with the TMC 6 looking at your video I see you set the TMC to channel 4 - was there ANY other configurations you did prior to this? and just went straight to the brain , pressed set up, then F2 midi then F3 percussion, and your sounds were there, it makes so much sense , unfortunately I have not been as successful, any suggestions or steps I missed on the TMC? I thank you in advance, regards Vic.

I agree , I have a issue with my thumb right now . Recent trigger finger in my thumb . Then I landed a spot in a band. .We have two shows this month and I am working on a 50 song set list . These are perfect for working through this May just keep Em for main stick and they are cheap

I just got into expanding, and have a new problem off the bat. I connected a second hi-hat and kept the PD-8 foot controller...however, when I connect the TD-9 module to my Focus rite audio interface, the hat and controller are not coming through for recording nor through the headphone jack through the TD-9....what is going on?

Can this be used to expand a TD-25 module so I can add more pads to my preexisting edrum kit?

Yes. It connects to the midi connector, so it should theoretically expand all Roland brains in the same way.

My Tama superstar classics sound just like these but I got them a lot cheaper. And why did you stuff your bass drum with so much muffling ? I got a remo powerstroke 3 with a white ring that’s muffle enough for me nothing in the kick drum and it’s boomy and loud it’s called the bass drum for a reason not muffled drum .when I play with other musicians I like to hear the bass drum and feel it in my chest with it being so muffled like that I beat you can’t hear it as much .

@willbloodfarm2776
@willbloodfarm2776 3 жыл бұрын
Hey man. This kit was a Roland TD9KV I think from memory. I sold it about 5 years ago and got a TD30, which has bigger pads and better sounds. It was a good kit. Roland kits are the best in my opinion - bit more expensive, but bulletproof.

And you're so close to the cancer cure as well! Sorry about those 8 minutes. There are other videos showing the effectiveness on the channel. Thanks for wasting 5 minutes of mine having to read this comment as well - I guess we are even. Info: The blankets are excellent. I still use them 7 years on and they really help reflections and cut noise from outside - mostly treble and upper mids. they don't cut the bass thump. They are useful for recording purposes too, especially in smaller rooms where reflections are too intense. I use them for vocal recording sessions as well - I stick the vocalist in the corner and record...easy. I recommend them fully. Have used them to record drums and vocals for 3 albums. My neighbors have never complained about noise. They can still hear me playing, but it's reduced so not to be offensive. Heavy and durable as well.

Did you actually scratch that hoop removing the protection with that pocket knife? It looks like you got it there pretty good. Great drums. I have 2 B/B kits with a few pieces on order from Tama right now. That finish you have is the only one I would consider if I bought a Walnut/Birch Kit.

I would do anything to get my hands on a Simmons kit. I played on new one in the store in 85. This sounds so much better than the new electric kits. Your video is a treat. How much would that kit cost now?
