They also could have been used to cut reeds, harvest cattails, as well as butchering. Maybe something of a very early multi-use sickle.

I always wondered if anyone ever hunted waterfowl with skipping stones in prehistoric times. Seems like it could work in shallow waters, where you could just wade in and retrieve the crippled or dead birds.

Очень круто! Я тоже в лесу и тут такие ёлки, что не сломать без пиления никак! И пилить до конца надо, не ломаются! Боюсь представить как бы я их каменными инструментами пилил!

Great vid again :) A little resin or wax on your "pig tail" point might help to keep it stiffer...

Thats a pretty efficient way to make a bow but why did you make it backwards?

INFORMATIVE VIDEO ! I:VE GROWN INCREASINGLY CONVINCED that there is strong correlation between what I term “Burin Density” (how many burins per square foot or per square meter in an artifact site) and the likelihood that a BOAT, SLED, PACKFRAME or other transportation-related MACHINE was being fabricated at that site, almost certainly using the STRONGEST, most RELIABLE joinery method available to stone age man: THE MORTISE & TENON JOINT. LIVES DEPENDED UPON this type of machine. Therefore its construction DEMANDED the STRONGEST, most DURABLE joinery possible. And to be LIGHTWEIGHT but IMMENSELY STRONG demanded fabricating MANY (often 30 or more) MORTISES (holes) in a SINGLE one=man boat. The tools required would be WORN OUT QUICKLY, so they had to be EASY and PLENTIFUL to create… hence the BURIN too and the LEVALOIS core technique were created. YOUR VIDEO showed elegantly just how EASY and COMMON it was to “whip up a burin”… Nicely done. Mark Vogt (novice knapper, VOGTLAND OUTDOORS)

hence why some primitive societies used beaver teeth as cutting tools too. Some societies actually used their own teeth to gnaw down small trees. But still love seeing the old ways being kept alive.

Hi I live in Pennsylvania Bedford County. I find stone flakes and points all around my house. I took them to a state archeologist. They are close to 12,000 years old. I find them all over and especially near the creek. 😊
