Is there an official uk resourse that tells you exactly what sheathing material you're allowed to use for each application with the thickness and fixing patterns? Ive been trying to find this on nhbc and building control but struggling to find the info. Thanks

Did you use UC3 or UC4 treated timber for your joists? It seems hard to come by! Thanks.

Just brilliant! As a DIYer there is so much to learn and appreciate. Thank you. Wardrobes and sliding doors would prove useful. The quotes now from outlets to install are quite frankly ridiculous.

How do get house insurance if people can lift off the glass and enter your home so fast and with minimal sound? I bet the seal can be strong but does the roof material tear with force?

Once these roof lights are bonded down and with the weight at well over 100kg they will be super difficult to take out, far harder than any other window in a typical house

Hi Robin, I'm at the quote stage in replacing a 30 degree pitched roof on a 6.4m by 5.5m garage, with a valley attaching to the house roof on one side of the pitch and an abutment against wall on the other side of the pitch. The whole roof and frame need to come off and wall plate need replaced. It would just be steel going on nothing fancy. I'm getting quotes in the region £35000, could you give me some advice, I'm from Scotland

Installing the flooring like this means you can't put an EDPM over the floor base. How are you able to prevent moisture coming up to the flooring? Is it just via sealing the insulation to the base joists?

Just used some for skirting around 5 curved in frame kitchen units. Took a bit to heat up and hold the heat, burns as well! Don't use a clamp to hold the shape while cooling either! Also when fitted quite a soft product and liable for chipping. Plus expensive for a 200mm length. Think I'll stick with lamination on a former 🤔
