They all came from England where a monarchy of wealth and class systens ruled. They LEFT that country to be free only to try to create another monarchy so they could rule here. The purpose of the civil war was that ALL men be free then conveniently forgot the women.

The United States bleaches it's history of its Radicalism. The fact that International Labor Day (May Day) is a commemoration of a Massacre that happened in the United States. The fact that a Communist General was fighting for the Union against the Confederacy, his name was August Willich, who was also an associate of Marx and Engels; even challenged Marx to a duel over their disagreement over the role of the Military in a Revolution. Or rhe Revolutionary struggles of Big Bill Haywood and Eugene Debbs, one of which, Bill Haywood, is buried beside the Kremlin Wall. So many people ignored...

This is why I hate lefty talking head logic, "all exploitation is wrong" yet they feast on exploited corpses prepared to them by exploited humans. What's their response to this? "Well animals don't matter, we're better than them" or "let's exploit animals on grass fed free range...bla bla bla bla. Essentially, let's exploit and murder them in a way that makes it seem like we care about them, even though we view them as items and not once living sentient beings" The right just doesn't care about animals because they don't even care about humans... which fittingly enough are also animals. "Let's entrap them, beat them, forcibly impregnate all of them but give them little party hats" whatever morals people have/have left after a day of lip service, leave them when they decide it's time to eat. You want to talk exploitation of workers, look at bees for honey, cows/goats for dairy, pigs for their flesh, fish... my god so many fish are slaughteted that they aren't even numbered as individuals but by their weight, chickens for their flesh and eggs, animal testing, fur, leather, breeding, etc. Perhaps these VOTE BLUE advocates need to stop pretending to care about workers and get off their gamer chairs and do some research. I swear to god, Vaush was triggered that I kept mentioning veganism and the effects of animal agriculture on the climate and his response was to make a video saying "there isn't really anything we can do" and "i don't know, take shorter showers". This is the limits of their intelligence, whether willfully or that's their limit. If going vegan didn't matter, think of all the animals I didn't consume or pay to have exploited in the 3+ years of being vegan, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks... that's just me alone. Lefty politicians are mostly like this too, if they aren't vegan. There brain shuts off the minute you talk animal exploitation, despite the fact that HUMANS are also ANIMALS. It's a condition I dubbed, "willful ignorance" where someone knows that their wrong but feigns ignorance or lies due not wanting to take responsiblity for being wrong. The rest are just ignorant to the fact which can you blame them? With all of the fast food propaganda being shoved down their throats and the happy cow nonsense and readily accessible animal products? As for the right, god help them. Who knows wtf is going on their brains, they're too far gone. They don't even respect themselves, how are they expected to respect others? Watch Dominion(documentary), Forks over Knives, Seaspiracy, The Game Changers, Earthlings, and Gary Yourofsky's The Most Important Speech You Will Ever Hear(on KZfaq). Go vegan 💚

Somebody needs to connect the dots for me and explain how the hell capitalism has anything to do with gay identity. Homosexuals have existed since the dawn of time, and it surely has NOTHING whatsoever to do with Capitalism. Moreover, I'm gay. But I have no need whatsoever to generally announce my sexuality to the world at large. I neither gain something nor lose anything by doing that.
@ceolandomhain298
@ceolandomhain298 3 күн бұрын
It's not strictly about homosexual intercourse, or even the acceptance of homosexuality on the margins of society, which of course are both ancient phenomena as you rightly point out, but about the possibility of new communities and family structures that capitalism presents. The contradictory nature of it is that this appears to be freedom, but the structures of these new communities and families are in fact being determined by economic factors (see how a vibrant gay community both emerged and then seemed to disappear in the early 20th century as D'Emilio describes.) In socialism, at least one would hope, the creation of new social formations would be self-directed by society itself, rather than on the whims of capital. Whether you agree with it or not is another matter, but this is my understanding of D'Emilio's argument. He is quite explicit that homosexuality is not a new phenomenon of capitalism, but specifically *gay identity* is, one which presents the possibility of freedom but is bridled by that same social contradiction that has engendered it, capitalism.

@@ceolandomhain298 - I'm gay, and I'm telling you it's a STUPID argument. Gay identity has nothing whatsoever to do with capitalism. Apples and oranges, dude. And gay identity happens to be the same thing as being gay. The only difference is whether a guy is in or out of the closet, and active or not. Capitalism drives MARKETS, but never one's sexuality. And social contradictions engendered neither capitalism nor homosexuality. Those contradictions may indeed accompany homosexuality, but they surely DO NO engender them. It's a specious argument -

Moreover, the same thing could also be said just as idiotically regarding hetero couples who decide to live together out of wedlock. @@scotthullinger4684 What do you disagree with specifically about this essay? I think D'Emilio would agree that heterosexual relationships have also been transformed in many ways by capitalism as a historical development, and his argument is pretty nuanced (i.e. he's not just saying "being gay is capitalist and being capitalist is bad!" Not at all!). I'm genuinely curious as to why this piece in particular would make you angry

@@ceolandomhain298 - Narrow down the theme of the video for me to the lowest common denominator, and then I'll tell you what's wrong with the conclusion. MAYBE ... PERHAPS my comprehension is somehow lacking. I simply want to know which point the authors of this video believe they're conveying to any audience. The title alone is asinine, simply because they're trying to combine two entirely different subject matters into a single subject matter.

Hofstadter, in his book, THE PARANOID STYLE, "tells us that, at its core, the paranoid style uses conspiracy to engage in subversion. The political paranoiac can’t stomach society as it is and thus seeks to destroy it under the guise of some looming threat: a deep state, antifa, migrant caravans, transgender bathrooms, an international pedophile ring. Perceived persecution runs deep, and those taken with the paranoid style channel their victimhood by believing the world is one vast conspiracy. But here is the key idea: it is not just personal grievance. The paranoid style is the paranoid style because it manages to take victimhood and transmit those feelings of personal injury onto the nation’s fate. One person’s paranoia thus becomes an attack on a culture or a way of life, turning a lone loony into a proud member of a “silent majority” - a collective firewall against something that needs no firewall." (I thought this a brilliant summation of today's politics)

Communist and socialist parties were the only ones arguing for gay rights back in the 90s, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn the support started much earlier. They consistently ahead of the curve with the issues they support because they're the only ones who give a damn about human well-being. They are also the only ones with sane policy proposals, instead of being content to let people die in the streets to protect the "right" of the wealthy to treat everyone and everything else as a revenue stream.
