"He's one messed up mcdonalds order away from becoming completely unhinged" Sam Rockwell is a great actor. His performance as Wild Bill in The Green Mile was amazing. Even though he'd done the worst thing imaginable somehow he was still likeable and endearing.

late to this channel - love your reaction ! - may want to consider reacting to Amelie (French whimsical romance ) and/or Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - Chinese film that won a million Oscars. Both sound very "leftfield" but both very enjoyable films!

Yeah I never really thought about that when seeing this movie but Tony Colette was a little young to have a kid that age I just googled it he's 36 she's only 51! Granted they don't always hire people to be the age they're supposed to be and sometimes they might try to age them up or down like this is the first movie I've seen you react to so I don't know if you've seen the Harry Potter movies in the books the people from Harry's parents time in school only 20 years older than Harry the thing is is his parents were killed at 21 but they have somebody some people in their late thirties playing these characters the ghosts and the people who went to school with them who are major characters in the story like lupin serious snape wormtail during the movie they are all supposed to be in their thirties but they are played by people anywhere from their forties to their 60s which doesn't bother me a 10th as much as them constantly bashing us over the head with he has his mother's eyes then hire a boy with blue eyes and higher a woman with brown eyes they were supposed to be green it doesn't matter particularly that they're not green it does matter that they don't match considering literally everyone he ever meets that has known her tells him he has his mother's eyes it's that important

The motorcyle jump was filmed with a real motorbike and stuntman Peter Kent riding it. However, it was too heavy to land safely, so it was supported with bungee cords, which were then photoshopped out. Photoshop (the original Adobe thing) was developed around that time, and many function were developed specifically for this movie to edit out artifacts like this. The main developer of Photoshop was one Thomas Knoll, the brother of John Knoll, one of the leading visual FX gurus at ILM.

The unsung hero of the movie is Charles Tamburro. He's a helicopter pilot, and he was working on a ton of movies and TV shows. He plays the pilot who jumps out after the "Get out!", and he was also the pilot who flew the helicopter under the bridge. Twice, at least.

The story about the actors not knowing what was going on during the chestburster scene is largely wrong. It's hard to hide the setup with holes in a table and the animatronic. Besides, the scene was shot in multiple takes (watch how the blood spatter changes inconsistently). The rumor started because the amount of blood and gore (unintentionally?) was much higher as the actors expected at least for one take, and there's one bit of actual real reaction from Veronica Cartwright, who by accident got squirted right in the face. On one of the first takes, the alien didn't burst through the t-shirt, which really was unintended (the shot is still used in the final version, though). They did reset everything, and fiddled with the settings of the animatronic, which probably caused the more violent outburst of blood and gore on later takes, which added to the rumor.

The music was composed by the late great Jerry Goldsmith. It wasn't used as he intended, though. For instance, he had the idea that the opening credits do not make you nervous, but calm you down with awe of humanity routinely going into space to make the shocks later even greater. Maybe it was a good idea by Ridley Scott to not go with that; the movie is pretty effective as it is. They also temp-tracked the movie with older scores of Jerry's. They fell in love with a bit from his score for Freud, which Jerry really didn't like, but they kept it in. There also moved the music around a lot, probably without consulting Jerry. He was so upset about that that he refused to an 'official' soundtrack album. Instead, he got his friend Lionel Newman to re-record his arrangements, and released that. As long Jerry was still alive, this was the only album release available, if I remember correctly. Despite all that, it's a frickin' great score. Jerry really understood that music carries almost all emotion in a movie, and he REALLY knew how to deliver the emotion the movie needs.

Regarding the pill: it's chilling when he says it's mostly for the reasons they can't think of. Imagine that machine leaves you suspended in some void indefinitely that somehow doesn't kill you yet also won't allow any escape.

Avengers would probably be the first target you should aim for in "superhero movies", the crap part is, that means watching The thor movies, (first one wasnt so great),thor dark world was probably tied for worst mcu movie with Captain marvel. Also you'd need to watch captain america.. then you'd be lined up for avengers if i remember right. I may be forgetting a movie here or there, but those were the ones that really gave the background for Avengers.

The music was composed by the late great Jerry Goldsmith. The best movie composer that ever lived. He understood, better than most, that the music is the prime carrier of emotion, and he composed music to enhance and push emotion, and not just support the action. He always improved the movie.

Not sure how I feel about Tony/Iron Man not having a secret identity at the end of the film. Traditionally, in the main comics, before this film, he always had a secret id, with Iron Man being "Tony's bodyguard". Then, in the early 2000's, Marvel Comics introduced their Ultimate Marvel comic line, and in that version of the story, Tony was always known to the public as Iron Man. I guess the movie makers liked that better, and/or felt it was easier to tell the stories? They did have him agree to say he was his bodyguard near the end, then in the end admitted he was him.

This is a true story. My mom and my 2 elder sisters used to bring my brother and I to watch The Exorcist when I was only 5 years old in first year of kindergarten. Most of the time I felt a bit bored and bothered my mom for snacks/drink or just to gain her attention. Only 3 scenes made me stop and watch: the opening desert archaeology scene with the red blood movie title; the crucifix masturbation scene; the final exorcism scene. My sisters were annoyed and complained to mom that I don’t know how to watch a movie in a cinema. Almost 2 decades later, I gained respect for this vintage classic as a young adult who is also a movie buff. So when it was playing on tv for its 25th anniversary close to midnight, I recorded it on vhs tape but since there were commercial ads the original duration is inflated. I let the tape continue recording the show In Living Color after the Exorcist ended until the tape ran out. One fine day, my parents were out sleeping over at my sister’s house leaving me all alone at home at night. I am not insane enough to watch The Exorcist in such situation but I needed to reel the tape fast forward in order to access and watch In Living Color. I remember of fast forwarding only about 2 hours and 7 minutes then press play on the remote control. Imagine my horror and shock when the scene that exploded on tv at cranked up volume was that of Regan roaring and sticking her tongue at the 2 priests. That completely freaked me out; I turned off the tv and turned on all the lights that night while sleeping. It’s ok if I watched it from start to finish but not smack right in the middle of a scene from this movie.

Yes, do them in order of release with one exception, “Black Widow”. It was supposed to come after “Civil War”, but was delayed in production. That’s the only one where the release date doesn’t match. The rest, are released in order of the storyline progression.

This takes place during Thor but before the Incredible Hulk, only Thor is worth watching. Captain America is S tier and definitely a great watch like The Avengers and than Iron Man 3. 31:29 Fury was referring to Thor and Hulk. They filmed him referring to both X-men and Spider-Man but Fox and Sony didn't agree too anything at the time so it wasn't in the after-credits scene.

You are young and your own experiences effect your views. That being said, the mom that poisoned her daughter for 2yrs until she died and proceeded to start poisoning the younger daughter she should be your most hated character. The teacher was wrong completely, but forgave Cole and even treated Cole as an equal by helping him get the main character in the play. Mom killer has no redeeming quality in the movie. I enjoy your reactions and reviews, you are one of my favorites to watch. I like how you go back rewatch and learn about the movie after first watch I thinks it great! I don't see any other reactors or reviewers doing this, keep it up!

This was the first fight in a glass-domed greenhouse I've seen since the Sci-Fi classic "Silent Running". The CGI definitely allows for much wilder action. The kind you could only imagine. But the great acting by Bruce Dern really emphasizes the drama of the moment, when you feel the impact of the dilemma he's faced with. And the practical effects they used then are still impressive, when you consider all the time and meticulous detail involved with creating those miniatures. The director of that movie said he got the idea for using the glass-domes after visiting the Climatron at our botanical gardens here in St. Louis. That was the first giant geodesic dome greenhouse ever made. Also the robots in that movie were another example of how ingenious they were with practical effects back then. George Lucas was very impressed, and borrowed that idea of giving robots cute, human-like behaviors in his creation of R2-D2, and C3PO. I still think though, the coolest movie robot ever made was the female robot from the silent movie classic, "Metropolis". It amazes me that they were able to make something THAT cool looking, with the limited technology they had from nearly ONE HUNDRED years ago!
