I agree with the comment that we live in 1st world but still have 3rd world mentality. Truth is, Singapore is just a small nation, we may lose everything if we are not careful. So most of us don't have the upper class mindset, we are mostly still working class and working in an extremely competitive environment.

I’ve been to Singapore 3 times and I agree, totally fake country , the culture, the history , even the sand on beaches!. Taxi drivers are rude, you will pay a lot for little , visited the Zoo and found half of the cages empty with only pictures of animals !, a lots of malls with branded shops but there are barely any items to buy in the shops ( very little and slandered collections - I still remember the variety of items in Paragon Bangkok which made my wife go crazy to the almost nothing to buy in Singapore malls. The only thing with real merit to the visitors ( specially families) is the universal studios, other than that you will be wasting your time from scam to a scam. You will get same or better experience and services in Thailand and Malaysia for less mony and you will see more smiling people around you!

As a Malaysian Penangite, going to Singaoore is like going there to just feel rich and that's all. There's very little culture left in there and it's literally difficult to survive, everything damn expensive. Also, if you experienced food in Malaysia, you cannot enjoy in Singapore, nasi lemak using processed food is weird and not delicious. In my opinion, live in Johor, work in Singapore, Singapore is just for work nia, cannot do other things at all. To be honest, this is what many malaysians think, work is good there, but survival is insane.
