I really can't express enough how fun they are, especially on their "tuner" wheel and tire profile. Quite drifty. I love the blue paint on this one. I was trying to get my hands on the Black Sheriff one too, but maybe too much heat to handle at one time...or maybe it was just my bank account threatening me...lol. Happy hot pursuiting!

Hey man!! I usually use what I got lying around, but it really depends on each tire compound. For the Carrera compound (being harder and more durable), I like to use about 220 grit to start (gently) and get the worst of it done. I then move on to upwards of about 400 grit to refine any smaller high/low spots until I get it to my liking. If you are running soft compound tires, you may want to step up to finer first to make sure you don't overheat the tire compound. Hope that helps! Remember to go slow and give the tires some time to cool in between!

I agree, I love watching the old films (wish I could have been there to experience it first hand). I grew up around Novas, Camaros, and Chevelles mostly, but I have a soft spot for them all. It must have been a sight to see all of them at once in their prime back then. I use the LapTrax App on my phone (it's free!) for my analog cars.

I wish I had some awesome little Alfa Romeos and Porsches etc to throw into mix, but I thought it would be cool with just the heavy giants of the 60s and 70s going at it, I guess a more equal playing field if you will. I can see that being a difficult task and makes total sense. That cougar really sits high in the front especially!! Looks pretty cool though, not gonna lie! 🤘🤜🤛🙏

I love how they drive, I find them hard to tune but when you get them set up they are so much fun and smooth.

Really appreciate you watching, Dave!! I was pretty surprised at some of the findings and it was a blast to test all of the cars out back to back on equal terms. I especially didn't expect the Cougar to run as well as it did either with the front end being so high and that Cuda really surprised me! Really cool to see all the variables at play and unpredictable results, for the most part. I agree totally!! I would love to see some high-end manufacturers produce some of these legends. Would really like to see a Firebird in the mix. Not sure if Scalextric has ever done one? I know they have Challengers, which I still need to acquire one but don't remember seeing a "trans-am" style bird! I'm sure you would know! 😂 An old Pontiac Tempest would be cool and a few of the other odd random factory unsupported cars that were on the track back then. Man that must be a blast! The Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix runs a few old mustangs and camaros set up like a trans-am racer, but not sure how close modification wise they would be to how the true trans-am series racers would have been back then. The sounds are amazing, I have to agree!!

@@SlotCarHooligan The Firebird is my favorite car, and I would love to see a manufacturer make a 1st gen Firebird! Maybe we'll get one someday. Even an early 2nd gen Firebird would bee good. I modified a black Carrera Trans Am to look like a Trans Am racer lol.

They were almost impossible to screw off of the base lol. Thanks Nico!! I was quite happy with the results as the BMW isn't as small a car as I would have thought! Definitely a longer wheelbase and a bit heavy, but still turned out to be a good runner. I may try super glue/Nail polish hardener on front tires on one of my next cars. Never tried that out yet and quite curious...😄💪🤘

1/24 are so much fun!! I have been expanding my borders recently so I can support their needs. I really love the more realistic weight and behavior. I have to say, I have never tried them non mag. I will test it out when I am brave enough, with urethane tires, as that seems like it would be really important on the heavier cars. I really love non mag as well. Thanks for watching and sharing! I found a company (Lickd.co) actually UK based where you are at, that you pay a fee for each song/license to use for perpetuity on one video, as long as you follow the terms etc. It's not cheap, so I did it as a trial because there are just some songs that I get a vision for with the content in mind. I wish they had a larger selection of music, but there are still some bangers in the mix. It really was so close!! I couldn't have staged/scripted it if I tried lol.
