How does it work in winter? Winter as in 60 north, snow, slush, ice, freezing temp?

Shocking difference. Your bike repairs cost less than a car serice or one tire.

VERY useful video. Very. Thank you. I have not ordered my Brompton yet, am looking at A or C line fir context. If you could have only one, would you go internal 3spd or the two. And the problems you mention with the 2-spd, do you think they must exist on the 6-spd as well, no? It is a combo of both units afteral.

😎🚴I'm happy that you like your brommie, I like your channel. 6 months isn't a long time, but you hit the core points. Gets you there, enjoying the ride, no worries about people messing around with it. IMHO, once you go brommie, you never go back. People discuss bikes in all ways possible, but you voiced the three parts that matter most. I could add a fourth: Safety first. Sometimes the safest way to cycle is slowly. For example, sharing a narrow bridge crossing with pedestrians. Or, as I did just this week (I'm American), leaving a 4th of July event with all kinds of pedestrians crowding to reach their cars to join the traffic jam. Got me there and back, safely, having fun. Bonus tidbit: It was a bring-your-own seating event. Folded, a brommie makes a good chair on uneven terrain. (More stable when you turn the seat backwards.)

I just had my first flat on a Brompton in 12-years. Yes, It was on the rear wheel. It took me about 2-hours to change it. Not only do you need to be careful where you put your nuts and washes, but you also have to deal with the gear chain and the regular bike chain. The gear chain is pretty nuanced and you have to be careful taking it off and putting it back on to ensure you're gearing is set-up correctly. That would be a nightmare in the dark and cold. Thankfully, I was able to do it at home. Your method is a great option for all the reasons you mentioned. Thank you.

Thanks for video. I'm still trying to work out how you close it when it's fully loaded and the top can't be rolled down.. The side straps look like they only work if the top is fully rolled down.

Hi lovely informative vid. I am from India and I ride a Fuji Touring and ride mainly ON FLAT ROAD. I am looking to buy a Brompton for my wife and I have been checking the 3 n 2 speed. My challenge is - in this part of the world we really don’t have the know how of a Brompton locally. Just a few scattered across the country. Spares being expensive and largely unavailable except through the LONE retailer in South India. While external Shimano and SRAMs are plenty to the count and readily available, my fear is a Brompton is an expensive challenge to have. Hence I am looking for utmost reliability and long term usage. My Fuji gets serviced at the local bike shops and it’s cheap to maintain. In this regard do u suggest 1. Get a Brompton nonetheless, and therefore which speed. 2. Avoid the Brompton totally.

I purchased a 2nd hand Brompton in early March 2024. It was a bargain as it was highly specced ARCC. Imagine my delight that I noticed 3 months later it had the cylindrical shaped tool kit. Ironically the spanner does not fit the nuts on the front wheel as it contains the ARCC built wheel which has smaller nuts.

Thank you for the video. Helped me put my kit back together after putting on a new tube. Was really stumped. I too thought the kit was an extravagance but have absolutely no other tools. Didn’t know about the ratchet until your video. Nothin like a great ratchet! Thanks again. I do feel appreciative of its attributes and secure having it and a spare tube along without having to think about it. I’m going with gratitude. And hope. That I’ll never need it. lolll I’m looking for a lifetime small torque thingy to put in the first aide kit.

BROMPTON ELECTRIC. "THE WORLDS MOST UNRELIABLE BIKE".. Both of my Electric Brompton"s continuously keep braking down. The poor quality bearings & electronics keep failing. Brompton knows about this. But just keeps replacing them with same the parts. Buy yourself several Chines copies for the same price. Or better still a Honda CBR 125cc motorcycle for the same price. Feel less disappointed & save yourself a fortune.

Had about 3000 km on mine so I thought I only needed a new chain, maybe chaining and rear sprockets ... Took it to the shop, buggers replaced the whole drivetrain and entirely new rear wheel. I have to say I am not happy but now I know for the next time 👍

Same for Norway we only got social media for shaming the shameless (so not working) and no enforcement. Best of luck going to police if you get run over... clearly "cyclist at fault" , case dismissed.

good vid, well done, watched a few vids on this, no one mentions you can clip the spanner into the toolkit and use it in your hand for more leverage when using the geared hex ratchet. if you look on the spanner there is a groove where it fits back into the tool kit. you then slide the sleeve back over it. its all well designed as you'd expect from Brompton, you get drawn into the design and sliding it into the frame, but I think you're money is better spent elsewhere. put you're own kit together cheaply, which is more satisfying. you'll end up buying most the tools anyway, if you don't own them already.

I broke my original pump and bought a (Xiaomi MI Portable Battery Pump style) battery powered pump which does a great job for home but I feel 'vulnerable' if I go for a long cycle. I have just ordered the new version thanks for popping up in my feed.

Good idea on minimizing the rub from the cables. I work at a bike shop and get long strips of double sided velcro with new bikes. They've been very helpful to minimize the rub points.

I am still on the original pads after 3k kilometres. But I am getting close to the line on the pads, so just ordered a new set. I have noticed that the back side of the pad insert wore out much less than the front side of the pad insert on my back wheel.

I would prefer the basket bag as it is both open during shopping and can easily be closed during cycling, so items don’t fall out. I’m new to the idea of Wotoncraft, so thanks for showing this.
