I feel developing world approach was incorrect. People read a lot in these countries problem is we have not reached out to them. If they have resources to read online this can be game changer.

Well structured answer.. however, Rachel jumped into an assumption that it is revenue growth and not user growth or time watched or movies watched. Would’ve been interesting to look at different aspects

Its not the numbers themselves that are intimidating but the agility with which one has to process, interpret and tie back to the larger picture. Nice case though.

does the interviewer just not ask 'why consulting?' if it's covered in your answer for walk me through your resume? is that a good thing?
@kobejoseph840118 күн бұрын
I was following along solving the case and during the second quant analysis it was much easier and seemed the most straightforward approach to find revenue loss by multiplying the percentage of subscription sharing by the revenue, rather than calculating with the number of subscribers and monthly subscription cost, which should just be the revenue anyways. Why did the interviewer lead this case in this inefficient calculation method? .25*300,000,000 instead of .25*1,700,000*10*12

At the stage where interviewee is asked which product feature to drop, why does he drops "user group selection", I feel user group selection is very crucial for experiment's success implication. Also, what did the interviewee mean by "user interaction" as a feature in user stories? Is it the engagement related aspect of email, (if so), then it would get captured in Campaign creation.

Nice case. Too bad that the preparer chose to focus on employee costs. Labor force availability/shortage is a macro indicator and should not be viewed as a barrier to entry in an industry that doesn’t require niche/expert know-how. It would just impact your salary costs going forward and would result in somewhat lower margins than observed historically.

Surprised not to see any analysis on Sales and Customer Support roles vs Mkt and Tech/product related to productivity. Specially since they are mostly within the 50mi of the office, and team dynamics are very different, customer experience declined and growth declined.

Maybe, from my point of view the candidate could be more structured in the brainstorming question "Which technology could the CEO fall into love in the next couple of years)": Here, the candiate could have stick again to the 3 steps in the value chain and sort ideas to the steps accordingly e.g. comissioner tools (Sorting); AI/ML for optimized trucks (Packaging) or Drones (Deliery) etc. Otherwise, thank you very much for the case!

Very helpful video. I have one question regarding the fact that the interviewee outlined his framework in the beginning but he does not ultimately touch on most of the points in his framework nor ask many questions about them. Is it common to state an entire framework out once without divining into the specifics like this? If the interviewer hadn't prompted him with new questions/graphs is the idea that he would have dove deeper into the specifics of his framework?

Loved the way this turned out to be collaborative and a discussion. Not only the candidate did a good job, the interviewer also did a great job in being a helpful, thoughtful and teammate. This shows a lot about being collaborative from both ends.

The best solution is to look for the biggest square circumscribed in a circle of radius 5. Then divide 40 into the length of that area, same with 25. Finally, multiply both results. From Pitagoras theorem, one can get 2*a=2*sqrt(c^2 /2) Where “c” is the radius of the circle, and “2*a” is the length of the square side. Replacing c=5 results in 10*sqrt(0.5) ≈ 7 Then 40/7=5.71≈6 25/7= 3.57≈4 But values must be rounded up. Then the final answer is 6*4=24

If the valuation is 3,6 billion and the asking price is 3,0 billion, why is it not an interesting target? It seems to me the company is undervalued and therefore should be considered further

@kloppsliverpudlians882 ай бұрын
I would have done this differently. Square area = 40x25=1000 sq ft. Circular area per hotspot = pi x r^2 = (3)(5)(5) = 75. Therefore you need at least 1000/75 = at least ~15 hotspots + some buffer for inevitable overlap

How is this a bad investment?Why is the 5 year ROI important? Considering a 100k annual profit, doesn’t this investment have an annual ROE of 20%? This seems a good investment. Can someone help me?
@TanmayGaware-jk5rb2 ай бұрын
The annual profit is 100K, investment cost is 500k, & we had 3 questions- profitable, payback & ROI. Investment is profitable but we have ignored some important costs as mentioned by interviewer & interviewee, payback is less than 5 years which makes it good investment but ROI shows that investment is danger as ROI= Profit/ Investment multiply by 100 multiple by 5/100. The 100 is actually the percentage (ROI always comes in percentage) so that's why we will only write 100 and secondly, its 5 years so we will multiply by 5 and divide it by 100. 100 is kinda of lifetime. Its similar technique in identifying number of people aged less than 5 in India so it would be 5/ 70 multiple by 1.4B. The 70 is lifetime of the people
