Love the in depth video showing the workflow. I'm a full time machinist that runs Haas mill and lathe. I've been researching the X7, what made you choose this machine compared to something like a Haas Mini Mill? Did you get financing? If so, what was that like? Thanks!
@MaDuceRules
@MaDuceRules 2 ай бұрын
I priced a mini mill from my HFO and it was 20k more similarly equipped. But it was really after visiting a X7 and seeing it in person that sold me. The quality of the machine really sell it. I placed my order in the parking lot before we left. 😂 We did not finance it. My best advice is to Contact Syil and they will setup a visit for you to look at a machine local to you.

@MaDuceRules
@MaDuceRules 2 ай бұрын
It hasn’t been an issue really. I’ve never done a single op that required all 12 tools. However it’s one of those things if it had 100 tool capacity you would want 150. The chip to chip tool change is around 20 seconds. That’s the only real issue with it. However I don’t run production so thats not an issue for me either.

Unfortunately there is no American made CMC machine. Haas is about as close as you can get but they don’t have enough US content to be able to say made in America on there machines. I’m sure at one point they could but like most US companies not anymore. Plus a comparable Haas was almost 28k more. I couldn’t afford that especially just for a machine that doesn’t make money. This is just for fun and not a business.

First off thank you for the video, it was informative. I do have a few comments and honestly I’m not trying to be a smart ass in anyway. I’m not sure if this was machined this way just for the video or what but why wouldn’t you use a shell mill to do the face surfacing instead of that small diameter end mill? Maybe because the tool change time is so slow? Even if you had rapids 100% it’s still lengthy. Obviously for clarity you didn’t run coolant. That would most likely increase accuracy a tiny bit as well. I really hope this was made this way just to show things because OMG what a waste of material thickness wise. How on earth did you ever get such a simple part to machine? Seriously even using a Haas VF-2SS would blow that time away. However I do believe those machines are a great bang for the buck. You certainly wouldn’t want to be making that part on something like a Heller 😂 I’d love to see what the results would be after several years of use. Especially if you were cutting steel opposed to aluminum. There you go…..an idea for a future video 😜. In my experience most inexpensive machines cut good when new but then…….well not so much. I think this was filmed and edited nicely.Too many ppl are clueless on how to film a good video. Nice job young man. 🤙🏻

Hello. I don't use my X7 as much as you do, so probably would not warrant the software although it would be nice to have. Having said that, I think that the macros you have written should be snapped up by Syil China and incorportaed into every new machine. The Syil community is indebted to you for making these instructional videos....well done!! What I do not understand is why Syil has never made an official instructional video but rely heavily on people like you. On a different note, some things you have never spoken about is how you check the intensifier oil level inside the spindle enclosure (are you aware of this?) and are you concerned about the temperature inside the electrical cabinet? All the 'smarts' are in the top of the cabinet where it is the hottest.
@MaDuceRules
@MaDuceRules 6 ай бұрын
Thanks appreciate the nice feedback!!! Just my opinion here however I have talk with the Syil team about this. Prior to the new design X7 most of the machines were in industrial settings. So no manuals were needed really. No excuse years later to not have good docs however. I’ve checked the intensifier oil a couple of times. I’ve taken pictures of the level. Going on three years you can barely tell it’s went down any. At the current pace it will probably be ten years before it gets to the low mark. My shop has no A/C and I’ve never had any issues with heat.
@johnspathonis1078
@johnspathonis1078 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your speedy reply. I got sick of removing the 14 odd screws to remove the panel so I cut a rectangular inspection hole near the intensifier reservoir. A 2mm thick rectangular cover plate is fixed with 2 screws (same screws as the rest). Now I just have to remove one screw and release the other screw. The whole process only takes a minute or so. We have had some very hot and humid weather here in Australia. I modified the factory fitted "cooler" which really is not a cooler but a heat exchanger. It is only a fraction as efficient as fresh air flow. I fitted another fan on the other side and an exhaust vent. So now I have two fans blowing air into the cabinet and a single exhaust. The air always comes out warm from the cabinet.@@MaDuceRules

That’s very creative. I don’t have a Syil (yet), perhaps in the near future I might hit you up for it. Say, how is the Syntech controller programmed to build screens like yours? I’d love to see a video on that if you were so inclined. Ciao, Marco.
@MaDuceRules
@MaDuceRules 6 ай бұрын
I’ve had a few people ask for a video on building screens. Maybe it’s time I put something out about it. The screens are made on a computer with a Syntec proprietary program called eHMI. It’s not very intuitive to use. Takes a while playing with it to master it. Also behind all the screens are several macros that make them work.

Soft jaws? The way I do complicated parts is I make aluminium jaws, put a thin parallel between the jaws, just to have some clearance, machine part shape or in this case considering the size - multiple parts, use same G54 you used for the jaws, for the part, you don't even need to use multiple coordinate systems
