Nice video! I love hostas too! I have around 90 different varieties so far! I think my top three favourites large ones are: Liberty, Bridal falls and goodness gracious! But i also love diamond lake, sum and substance, france williams ect! Some smaller ones that i love are Wheee!, all the ones in the halcyon family (june, touch of class, first frost, autumn frost, blue ivory, ect). I also love many of the blue ones and with ruffled edges like waterslide, neptune, hope spring is eternal…:). Hostas are so much fun and many of mine comes from my mom who is also a hosta lover, so i agree they hold a lot of memories :). Thanks for sharing!

Great video! I also watched a lady talking about trumbetta squash. They look the same. Google let me know that they are. I wonder if there are varieties that are more or less susceptible to squash boring moths?

I believe this is because of how quickly it roots in along the vine. Plus how quick it grows.

I grow my rampicante vertically. I DIY’d a garden structure…consisting of EMT pipe verticals and horizontals joined together with MakerPipe connectors…with a section of cattle panel wired across the top. My rampicante grows from the soil upwards via twine and multiple clips until it reaches the top, then it sprawls horizontally on the cattle panel. I have 7 rampicante plants growing in my garden right now, and they take up relatively little soil space in the 6’ x 4’ raised bed.

Wow that’s a lot of Rampicante! Sounds like an awesome set up 🙂

Growing 2 favourites this year: Cherokee Purple and Sungold. Also growing Cherokee Green, Green Zebra, San Marzano and Roma. Also a mislabelled Giant Rainbow which is actually some kind of cherry. Next year I've got about 20 seed varieties ordered including some dwarf varieties like Rosella Purple, BrandyFred, Uluru Ochre, Dwarf Almandine and Wherokowhai. Other varieties are Oaxacan Jewel, Barry's Crazy Cherry, Opalka, Green Giant, Cosmonaut Volkov, Indian Stripe, Ananas Noire, Thorburn's Terracotta, Feurerwork, Andrew Rahart's Jumbo, Sylvan Guame, Xanadu Green Goddess and Virginia Sweets. Whew! Really looking forward to next year.

I am in CT as well. I found 2 hornworms and think 2 eggs on my ingrown tomatoes. Also, a lot of flea Beatles damage. Something is also chomping all my basil. Any suggestions anyone?
@AdventuresinGardening13 күн бұрын
Flea beetles do a lot of damage but usually just the lower leaves. The June beetles and Japanese beetles love the basil - try shallow bowls of water under the plants. The beetles are attracted to them.

I've invented something...... I built a long handle for the Asia Style Garden Hoe. You have seen the short handle Asia Gardening hoe and many people love them the long handle are the best weeders I've used and doesn't blast them little bits of stems and chunks of foliage making my plants sick with moles. Ask a Blacksmith to build your own.

My current favorite in my hosta collection is probably Guacamole. I think the hostas I paid the most for were my Empress Wu hostas since they were installed by my landscaper after I begged him to find some for me! Thankfully I have been able to divide them and have many more than the two he planted. I think I want to plan a hosta destination trip that includes Land of the Giants Hosta Farm in Milton WI.
