Being banned from the USA is no great loss… I banned myself from going there! Looking forward to visiting Canada though. 😊

British TV comedy is (IMO) some of the funniest shows you will ever see, if you can understand the irony, innuendo, satire, local dialects, British history, current affairs and pop culture. I think the current fad for wokeness has watered down some of the sharpness, TV execs may not approve of many subjects now for humour (it seems to me), but there was a time not so long ago when anything could be turned to comedy gold. Shows not mentioned but worth checking out, The Inbetweeners (all hilarious but the visit to the theme park is excruciatingly funny!), Peep show, Royle family, Bottom, Father Ted (IMO the greatest sitcom ever broadcast), W1A (sitcom about the workings of BBC management, seemed very close to reality!!), Rab C Nesbitt (Scottish comedy at its very best! the first time I saw this I am sure I sat there open mouthed wondering what the hell it was I was watching!), Still Game (another brilliant Scottish sitcom), The IT crowd. I'm sure there are many others I've missed!! Oh and yes The Young Ones was seminal, it literally pushed comedy in the UK in a completely different direction!

The USA funded the IRA and then doesn't allow them into the country. Also when terror was aimed at the USA they became anti terror, after years of being pro terror themselves.

King Arthur was real. Come to Glastonbury and go to the Abbey where he was buried, also go to North Cadbury village which is where his castle was. If you’re spiritually open you’ll feel the energies of that time, and if you have spiritual vision you’ll be able to see the castle and knights returning from battle. 😊

Others have covered that your place names were terrible...I will say that Newquay is said like New-Key! A general rule when trying a new place name is to not open your mouth and move it around alot, but open a little and hold in one position and as you go to say the word say it with no effort and like you really don't care and are tired....we do not over pronounce things, but Americans feel the need to move their mouth alot more and pronounce every single sound they see! Sorry if that sounded like a slight on you, but was just trying to explain the difference a bit! Thanks! x

A duvet is NOT a blanket or comforter!! It is an item that varies in weight/thickness and can be filled with feathers...such as Duck or goose etc...and feels a bit more like a cloud! You put over them a duvet cover (of any style/colour/theme) and it is super cosy! In the summer months you might use a Tog rated 2.5 duvet, this is lighter in weight and so you shouldn't over heat at night, and in the winter months you might have around a 4.5 - 8.5 tog rated duvet, which is heavier and thicker so keeps you nice and warm and toasty! Hope that helps? And I can see several comments giving a proper explaination about the toilet brush, so I won't start in on that useless explaination from Evan! x

I bet you they don't cover my favorite rapper MF DOOM. He was also banned from the states, where he had lived most of his life. Because he had technically been there illegally. So his last years on earth were spent in the UK. Rappers would go over there from the US just to record with him. RIP MF DOOM

It's not quite the same across the UK. Wales does have ads and programmes that are very Welsh specific. Also, until the digital switchover, basic terrestrial television didn't include Channel 4. We had S4C which during the day had programmes in Welsh then in the evening English language programmes including some Channel 4 programmes, but often we'd get them quite a while after they were shown in England.

Vacation in the UK (and Australia, where I'm from) is a nasty word associated with being evicted from say a rental property or if there has been a natural disaster or something..."you need to vacate this property by..." or "when you have vacated the property" ... otherwise vacate and all other forms of is are just words we don't use hardly ever. Maybe one instance we might use it is when the bell goes at school and the students just abruptly "vacated" the building all of a sudden.

If you lived in Scotland your prescription for painkillers would be free too👏 Scottish citizens pay for this though our own taxes. People who have more income pay a bit more in tax and everyone has free health care, free prescriptions, free university tuition, free bus travel for everyone over 60s and under 22years. Free school dinners for primary school children and a wonderful baby box full of clothes and essentials when your baby is born. And extra benefits for Carers. And lots more! Progressive taxation means we can provide quality services for everyone without forcing humiliating means testing on people. These Universal services used to be the bedrock of the post WW2 political consensus in the UK until Thatcher destroyed it. Im so glad to live up here where these community values are preserved. I wish the rest of the UK could follow our lead but Tories, Labour and LibDems are still in thrall to City of London bankers and the private sector.

When thinking of Somalia think of 'Black Hawk Down' and you might realise why the US has a problem with Somalia. Nigella Lawson's father used to be the Chancellor of the Exchequer in the UK. There may have been some interesting conversations at things like G7 as a result of the ban.
