I can't tell a difference between the 93 and the mark IIs. I have a pre-acutrigger mark II 22lr and a 93R17 and except for the caliber and triggers, they are identical, and look like the one reviewed (minus the fishing line dangling from the swivel stud 😅)

Im planning to get a 16vs, should I get a 30vsw or a 50vsw instead? I want something for trolling and something I can use for smaller sharks and for bottom fishing

Nice review! I have a little Taurus pump .17 HMR with a 16" barrel. Fun little gun! I'd love to have one like yours. I also use the Hornady 17 grain ammo. My chronograph reads 2,550 fps. I'd love to have a setup like yours! Thanks

I didn't even have a bow tech in mind when I went to upgrade, i had my heart set on hoyt defiant and ended up with a reign7, best decision I've made in a long time, I'm still using it, a bloke at my local club traded his in for the solution and after shooting it for a while he wanted to do a straight swap for my reign, I shot it a couple of times and said sorry mate can't do it, he's been looking to get another reign 7 since.

I really enjoyed this video and also looking to get in to light offshore fishing. I currently have a Penn Warfare 20LW that I use for fluking, and togging in deep water when I need heavy weight to stay on the bottom. I've also used it for striper fishing and it has handled them very well. But I wanted to get more into tuna and dolphin fishing. My buddy does trolling off his boat but is limited on equipment and so I wanted to get my own setup to bring along. I found a combo from Cabelas that pairs a Penn Squall 50VSW with either a 5'6" or 6' Ocean Master Stand Up rod. Do you think this would be a good beginner outfit for me?

Thanks for your review! I watched lots of these .17 HMR reviews before I just had to have one for my rim fire collection. Ended up with the CZ 457 American. This little caliber is a burner for sure! I haven't had much opportunity yet to get out and do any amount of ground squirrel or rock chuck shooting, but the ground squirrel that I did manage to get a shot at late in the season this year was easily dispatched at 75 yards... I have a line on a huge meadow that is filled with the little buggers for next spring, so should get some good shooting in with the 17 and the .22lr . Thanks again..

@yessuhyessuh21003 жыл бұрын
Retrieval is pretty bad on the squall and the international is better built id recommend a tld50lrsa over both it has good build quality and the internals of a tiagra with a graphite frame

Great gun. Great value in wood stock with bull barrel. Most accurate rimfire in the safe. I zeroed at 50. Tad high at 100 (like .4"). Tad low at 150. I'm shooting for fun, not compitition. But get really tight groups with CCI 17 grain.

I have a few spinner reels and I do a lot of shoreline fishing, I been debating on getting penn squall #20 size reel to start learning on. What is your take on the #20 ? What is the maximum lb. line capacity on them? If I like the feel of working with a conventional reel I may want to pick up a larger size.

I have the 93R17 BTVLSS model, stainless with the thumbhole stock. It is without question one of the most accurate rimfires I've ever owned. I've had just about every 22 cal there is as well as a Remington 5mm and even a .219 Zipper. At 100 yards none were much more accurate than this little rimfire rifle and most were better than me LOL. People say the 17HMR is too small for coyotes and big chucks and I disagree. Chuck Hawks did a comparison of the 17 HMR and the 22 WMR and he said: the "17 HMR hits about as hard at 150 yards as the standard velocity .22 Long Rifle does at the muzzle". Just to put that in a context in my area we have a number of small beef farms. The farmers kill their 500 pound plus yearlings with a 22 LR to the head so don't discount the power of the little 17 HMR. Naturally, shot placement is critical.
