My Dad (RIP) caught a 10 pounder at the tubes in the 80's, his first time there and first cast. Best day of my life. ❤

Just ran across video and channel! We offer reviews of our area, and when we travel. We're local in the Great Smoky Mountains, and Fly fishing is something I have never been able to do, sadly. Maybe one day.

Feild and Stream has a great article to ensure trout survive catch and release. (Hint: stress kills: unhook asap and keep in the water)

That big one was one of the most beautiful fish I've ever seen. I need to find that creek, not just for the fish but for the scenery alone. Wow.... just wow.... one of my favorite things about brook trout, is when youre fighting a fish and the start walking across the top of the water just right, it looks like flames dancing on the waters surface

Way back when I was young there was a girl and her father. He fly fished in those upper streams of NC and the almost impenitrible Balsams. Her father went to a small college to teach math and they offered him room and board. A room in the dorm and meals in the cafeteria. Depression time, yes. He rose to Vice President, but did not see his daughter marry. She married me and 60 years later I would have to lay his daughter to her rest up hign in the Balsams where he fished, the Great Smokies.

I did just the opisite, I sold the Orvis, Sage and Loomis rods, and went to the Bamboo. After catching on that 1st rod, I couldnt go back to the cold lifless graphite. 30 plus bamboo later without ever looking back.
