As an old truckie myself this is the best demo of tying down a load that I've seen so far, that is what I call the proper truckies knot.

Lol okay Mr. expert. First of all, it’s illegal to put a twist in the strap in Australia nowadays. (That’s where he is). Second of all, he secured the excess just fine. Only improvement that can be made is to take that loop and twist it around the strap. Won’t go anywhere.

Thanks for this video. Due to severe trauma of my father trying to teach me 30 years ago I have been unable and certainly unwilling to learn this knot but now I have to and this explanation made it much better than 'now just grab it, tie around here and pull on it for fuck sakes'

Nice, securing wood pallets with a chain. SHIT FOR BRAINS!!!!!! One or two straps would have been more than enough to secure the pallets. Plus, don't use gloves, LMFAO

Ever think it could just be for demonstration purposes???
@truckeralvarez59323 ай бұрын
@@JBullock54 Well, replying after 4 years is a stretch, but here it goes. When you do a demonstration, it is expected that the demonstration is valid and accurate so it comports with what you want to explain. If you see in the video, the editor tries to HIDE the person and the company, so much for transparency. This looks more like a Cowboy show. He used INCORRECT lashing equipment to secure a weaker load. Apart from the wrong application, the mere fact that he is not using gloves tells me that he is an old school guy. No sense of PPE.

@@truckeralvarez5932 4 years, 14 years, blah blah blah.. doesn’t change anything. You’re taught when you get hired. There’s a reason your training isn’t KZfaq. This is just a demo on how to use them. Quit your bitching and move on

can you use this knot if you only have tie down points inside the truck bed? most of the videos show it tying down to a straight rod outside the bed. My truck has tie points inside only and no rod down the length of the bed.

Why would this guy say something so ridiculous like “make sure the strap is not twisted”? He’s wrong! I’ve been a Trucker for 40 years. Anytime you’re going to have a minimum of 4 foot length of strap on each side of whatever you’re strapping down ALWAYS put a twist in your strap. If you don’t put a twist in the strap it will vibrate in the wind like a guitar string. Not only will it make noise it will also damage the side of the cargo being carried depending on what it is. If the load isn’t taller than 4 feet then you really don’t need to put a twist in the strap because there’s not enough length of strap to vibrate. Rolling up the excess length of strap the way this guy did is also ridiculous because it WILL NOT stay. It will unravel in the wind. It’s quite obvious to me that this guy is a rookie driver and hasn’t learned much yet. I hope he learns how to properly secure a load without hurting someone else in the meantime. 😏😖
