Got the DMD2 T-865 tablet recently. The combination of GPS with handlebar controller and extended dashboard information via OBD2 ist very nice. However the software does not seem to be very stable or buggy.

Excellent comparison. You solidified my choice on the DMD T865. I think a standalone GPS unit is essential because I do not have want to expose my cellphone to the elements and I dont want to mount and dismount constantly. The bike I'm looking at only has a basic LCD so OBD monitoring is a nice bonus and really brings the older bikes into the 21st century.

I am a new DMD2 user. Looking for confirmation that the FOBO 2 TPMS sensors are still working as you described in your clip. I see DMD2 website has a future TPMS of there own making being developed now. Not currently available so I am considering using your approach.

I would wait. DMD is close to releasing its sensors. They look like they are using the same sensors as fobo, but yes, my fobo have been working great.

I bought the new Samsung Active5 tablet..loaded Gaia and other apps on it, but now trying to figure out how to mount the dang thing on my Tiger 900...without vibrating, without impeding the windscreen....and without it "falling/tilting" down off road. Spent 6 mths and still figuring it out....bought mounts, Evotech, Raid, Ram as well as the tablet holder also..... geeeshshs.

One big perk with the dmd is the mounts that come with the package. Be curious how the active 5 does.

How is the helmet compared to the Bell MX -9 adventure for the same price? Can we wear glasses comfortably? Do these have speaker cutouts and can you install the clip for cardo or sena? How is the wind noise at highway speeds? Does the peak catch wind?
@AdvTechMoto
@AdvTechMoto 13 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, I have no time with the bell helmet. I had no issues wearing my sunglasses with the msr. I installed a cardo unit and speakers with no issue and has enough space. Wind noise is a little bit louder than a premium helmet, but most budget helmets are that way. I didn't notice the peak causing any issues, but I also have a fairing on the 701

I have the new Zumo XT2. I have also tried using the Garmin TREAD APP on my iPhone and found it to be about as useful as tits on a bull ... ! The way I create my Routes, Tracks and Way Points on a Windows PC, is I first plan the route/track and all the way stops on "Gaia GPX Maps". When I have finished planning the route etc. I save the info as a GPX file. I then open up "Garmin Base Camp" I then import the previously saved GPX file from Gaia into Base Camp. In Base Camp I create a separate "list file" for the way points and another "list file for the actual route. The GPX track file from the "Gaia GPX Maps" needs to be converted to a route in Base Camp. I can then export everything from the PC to the XT2 via USB cable. I first import the route by itself and then I import all the Waypoints as a separate collection. It's a bit of a steep learning curve, but once you get used to it it's fairly straight forward and reliable way to get the route you want including Tracks and Way Points into the ZumoXT2. "Brent Pearson" on KZfaq has a great play list that explains it much better than I have. The playlist is called "Mapping and Route Planning for Adventure Bike Riders" At the time the playlist was done, it was only to do with the original XT and not the XT2, but the bulk of the info and instructions also work for the XT2. Garmin Base Camp will say that the ZUMO XT2 is not fully supported in Base Camp. Just ignore the warning a skip past it. It will still transfer everything just fine to the XT2. I also can have a fully functioning back up of everything on my iPhone using the App for Gaia GPX maps.

Can u explain why husky didn’t cover it. It’s a recall they’ve covered on many bikes.
@AdvTechMoto
@AdvTechMoto Ай бұрын
This is what Husqvarna wrote to me: Unfortunately, Husqvarna does not proceed with any warranty or goodwill in this manner. The procedure would be to have it inspected by the dealer and have them report the failure to Husqvarna Technical Services for reviewal. Once Husqvarna has reviewed the diagnostic report, a determination will be made as for how to proceed. If the concern is deemed warrantable, all repairs would be performed with Original Husqvarna spare parts. Goodwill assistance is always determined on a case-by-case basis. However, given the parameters of this situation, your unit being years outside of the warranty period, it is unlikely that Husqvarna will provide any assistance for this concern.

They tried to weasel out of replacing my radiator when the mounting failed causing a leak (known issue with these bikes) and the bike was still under warranty... so don't expect goodwill from KTM. As much as I like the bike design I'd not recommend KTM... combination of poor reliability (worst of the first tier vendors worldwide) and poor support. I really like the 690sm but I'd get the Ducati over the KTM, very similar performance spec's and I've gotten MUCH MUCH better support from Ducati for my bikes than I've gotten from KTM.

Yep, pretty crazy. I'll have about 2k miles on mine since I replaced the cam. Pretty much new valve cover, new camshaft assembly, clean out shavings, and multiple oil changes to flush out remaining junk. Let me know if you have questions, but a 21 having the issue is interesting....

@LifeWellRidden I reached out multiple times to Husky without any help from them. They said take it to a dealer for diagnosis, and we may do something then, but I wasn't going to take the chance of Husky not covering it. I wonder if there were signs of markings on the valve cover when they did the valve check and they just didn't notice either. All my shavings were isolated to the stator side. I'm about to do another oil change to see if all the shavings are gone.
