There is some conjecture that the briefcase contained Marsellus' soul and the scar on the back of his neck refers to Asian mythology that the soul leaves the body thru that point.

HA‼ You are the main attraction on my Saturday Nitro (Saturday Night), but I will not watch this right now. I will savor the anticipation of watching this. And then I will savor the savoring of the savor of watching this. Time will stand still as worlds collide while I watch this………

What makes this film for me is gangsters talking about pop culture and foot massages ,and whether they mean anything more than just a foot massage. I also love Jules character ark:) good stuff:)

You should watch Heat with Pacino, De Niro, Jon Voight, Ashely Judd, Tom Sizemore, Ted Levine (that dude is excellent at playing cops), a young Natalie Portman, Hank Azaria (one of the voice actors from the Simpsons).

Tarantino is an interesting director; he copies '70s movies in whole or in part and slaps his name on it. So far he hasn't been sued somehow, unless he pays for the rights beforehand. Also seemingly a fan of "feet". Characters seemingly argue philosophical counterpoints in awkward situations as if voicing Tarantino's own personal internal dialogue with himself. I'm more of a Robert Rodriguez fan who gets the "grindhouse" feel just right, like in Machete or Hobo with a Shotgun.

"Where is my watch?" "Did you leave it up your butt?" This made me laugh out loud! It's Dawn's way of saying, "Where was it when you last had it?" Also, pulp fiction means poor-quality books printed on poor-quality "pulp" paper.

If you notice when they show Marcellus from the back he has a bandage on his neck ? And when anyone opens the briefcase it has that glow one of the theories is in the briefcase is Marcellus soul ! And that’s why you wanted it back so bad

It is thought that Marcilus' soul was in the brief case. Also it is said that when the Devil takes your soul, he does so through the back of your head, hence Marcilus' band-aid. And by the way, the combination to the brief case was 666. 😈

Pulp Fiction is the name assigned to a cheap fiction printed on the lowest grade of paper (basically newsprint). You'd see cheap fiction (mystery, fantasy, romance, etc.) printed and sold to the masses. Some early comics were printed in B/W on pulp paper before comic books became a big-time thing. If you've ever read a cheap paperback romance book - pulp fiction. Same with cheap murder mysteries. It's a whole genre of fiction that may or may not eventually catch on with readers. If you've ever bought 25 0r 50 cent books at a used bookstore (with or without covers), it's likely it was pulp fiction. Recycled paper of the lowest grade is generally pulp paper. Older newsprint is generally printed on pulp paper. Sometimes you can go to older newpapers and get an almost used up roll for packing in prep to move house. You can by rolls in stores, but it's generally about five times the price. Maybe more. Books for students are expensive in most western nations, but books printed in Asia are often printed on a medium grade (smooth) pulp paper in B/W and save tons of money. Many publishers in the West don't want you to know that their books are available in Asia printed in English for 1/3 the price.

To all the virgins in the house (and reading the comments, there are plenty of y'all): Don't _ever_ let anyone tell you there's something wrong with you or you need help (unless you want it for yourself, of course). I could write a book about why to wait for sex with someone you love. The first chapter would be called, "Exploring as committed virgins is glorious!" The last chapter would be called, "Why to stay single for your entire life." Inbetween would be a shaken snowglobe of good, bad, fun, horrid, compromises, revenge, shocks, sadness, sheer joy, and every nuanced emotion inbetween. I am 63, 10 years out of a 32-year wonderful marriage that ended because, well, just because & it wasn't my choice. Now, I have zero desire to ever be intimate with anyone again. I don't have to share the remote, ask where they want to have dinner, get yelled at, "Are you _still_ on the computer?!" or even share my covers. I'm just an old fuddy-duddy now and I love it. My life has never been so much fun, so bright, so joyful as it is right now. Whoever you are, virgins or not... your life is yours to do with what you want. Have a blast!

The reason Vincent is on the toilet so much is that he is a heroin addict, and one of the side effects of opioid abuse is constipation.

here's a couple bits of trivia a few fans of the movie might not be aware of: - In a huge city like L.A., the reason Marcellus Wallace happened to be walking by the same intersection as Butch who just left his apartment, was because Wallace was bringing coffee and donuts to Butch's apartment to wait there for him with Vincent (Travolta). Normally Jules would have gone with Vincent but by that time, Jules had already quit the biz. - The reason Vincent was often in the bathroom was because a side effect of heroin use is constipation. He takes a book to read because he'll probably be there awhile. - Sam Jackson's Bad Motherfucker wallet was Tarantino's real wallet.

Pulp Fiction are VERY cheap, mostly short, mostly crime books, sold in small shops in the US. They are called Penny Dreadful in England. I'm not sure about the rest of the UK.

To answer your questions; There are speculations what was in the briefcase, one is Elvis Presley's golden suit and the other is Marsellus Wallace's soul. They believe the reason why Marsellus has a band aid on the back is because they took his soul through the neck. But the real reason why he has a band aid on the back of his head is because Ving Rhames accidently cut himself while shaving. There's no real answer what's in the briefcase, Tarantino wants the audience to guess.

My favorite scene is the Mia Wallace OD scene. Lance: "You bring the needle down in a stabbing motion." Vincent: "I gotta stab her three times?" Lance: "NO you don't gotta f**ing stab her three times!"
