I did not watch all of this. So I was in the US Army from private to colonel, and as a graduate of the National; War College, was a strategic planner. The question to be asked is, "If we go forward with this will we gain allies, or enemies." Napoleon did not understand, or care, and so as he went forth to conquer all of Europe, he gained many enemies, and the English defeated him at Waterloo. Hitler managed to make more enemies than allies. And although the citizens of communist countries would seem to be prime candidates for liberation, he managed to insure that they would be enemies against fascism. And today, the Russians want to subjugate the Ukrainians, as this were WWII. Now they have attracted more allies to the Ukraine. So they should stop this strategic plan, right? We will see. But history has shown that no error goes unpunished. One cannot do what one wants to do just because one wants to do it. Every action brings counter-action. So one must be sure of what one wants to do. And envision the future state.

Until July 1943, Germany had much more chances of winning against the Soviets (quality of troops, better leadership, natural resources, you name it). Then Kursk changed everything.

As I watch and hear the narration of this video I can't help to think that as a Peruvian living in the US for more than 43 years, I can honestly say, the Democratic party leftists are working on doing exactly the same thing they did in Russia to the USA.

THE FOLLOWING COMMENT SHOULD ALWAYS REMAIN AS THE NEWEST COMMENT : @oldmanjoe6808 2 months ago You didn't mention an important factor about bombing civilians... the ideology of war is that if there's an anti-aircraft battery on top of a hospital, school or house of worship, it becomes a target. Also, the Japanese were making war materials in their own homes in their cities. Such made their homes a viable target of war. If I was a civilian making bullets or mortars or what have you, I'm a target and so is my house which was an operating factory for the production of weapons to be used against America. Don't overlook as trifle the incendiary balloons they sent up into the atmosphere in Japan, carried by wind currents to the US, which dropped firebombs on our Pacific Northwest to burn down Ame

If Overlord had been a defeat, I think that the 509th Composite Group might have been deployed to Britain instead of Tinian, to plant mushroom clouds in Germany. Which was the original intention of the Manhattan Project.

It is absolute nonsense to record 28 million losses for the Red Army, without taking into account civilians. Yes, the Soviet Union made mistakes during the war, but this offensive myth about “meat assaults” or “one rifle for two” should not be supported. Yes, the author implies that casualities and fatalities are the same thing.

The truth is without American and British support, and without a huge number of cannon fodder to throw at the problem the Russians were ineffective and a garbage army. Yes they won in the end, yes they had battle hardened troops after a bit, but they enjoyed the numbers and land mass that could absorb huge losses. The lend lease act supplied 30% of all the war making capabilities for the Soviet Union. Also without their factories being designed and assisted in construction by American engineers in the 30s they would've never been able to move them. Lastly the Germans weee superior in every way on the battlefield except numbers. Period

Long story short ,the German soldiers 1 to 1 were far better and only lost because of being so vastly outnumbered, during WW2, 1 German soldier was an estimated value of being worth 10 Russian soldiers

If the movie 🎥 “Enemy at the gates” is to be believed too it looks like a lot of times the Soviets commanders purposely sent their soldiers into the German front line at Stalingrad in order for the Germans to use up all their ammunition 😮 They were told to run into machine gun fire 🔥 and they probably never even killed one German… And? If they retreated and ran back there were units set up on the other side that gunned them down for cowardice 🤦🏻‍♂️…..

There's one statement made that I disagree with - it said the Luftwaffe had a minimal effect on the landings - considering the amount of forces on both sides , the Luftwaffe's participation was as close to zero as you can get. 19 German FW 190 aircraft flew towards the Normandy coast. 11,590 Allied aircraft were available to support the landings. They flew 14,674 sorties and 127 were lost. That's a difference of about 10,000 to 1 or statistically zero.

Russians weren't fighting with Germans only. It was the third Reich which included every single country in the Europe excluding Jugoslavia. French troops defended Berlin till May 1945 for instance. AFAIK no European country gave official numbers on their casualties yet (not sure about Germans though). What we see on internet are just speculations.

Barbarossa was doomed from the start no matter how you slice it. The only chance would've been if Germany had a full mobilized army which they did not, so it doesn't matter. They also had no strategic bombing capabilities.
