Hi Rudolf, danke für das große Lob, hat uns sehr gefreut! Wir haben schon einige Ideen für neue Songs gesammelt (vor allem Martin war fleissig), aber aufgrund verschiedener beruflicher und privater Gründe haben wir noch keine größeren Schritte gemacht. Wollen wir aber noch! Wir haben auch über live Auftritte gesprochen, auch mit Deibys, der ja mittlerweile in Spanien wohnt. Ich sag mal so: unmöglich ist es nicht, aber die Hürden sind sehr hoch... Das Lob wird euch bestimmt noch mehr freuen, wenn ich euch sage, dass das Fundament meines Musikgeschmacks Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Ten Years After, UFO und Uriah Heep sind. Die "Säulen" zur Prog-Etage waren in den 70ern Kansas und Eloy, dann kamen King Crimson, ELP, Pink Floyd, Genesis und Jethro Tull. Anfang der 80 dann die NWOBHM und zeitgleich Rush, der Beginn der Liebe zu härterem Prog. Als dann 1989 Dream Theater kamen wurde ich zum Fan der ersten Stunde ... und bin es immer noch, aber ein kritischer ... Freue mich natürlich umso mehr, dass Mike Portnoy zurück ist. 18 DT Konzerte, 3 x Transatlantic, 3 mal Neal Morse Band, Winery Dogs, Sons of Apollo und Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress auf dem Night of the Prog 2017 sind wohl Beweis genug, dass ich meine Bands aktiv unterstütze.🤘 Durch youtube und Corona fand ich ein neues Hobby : reaction videos ... es fing ganz harmlos mit Jinjer's Pisces Live Session an, ein Video, das jeder Metaller kennen sollte, immerhin 80 Mio clicks und inzwischen über 1000 !! reaction videos. In 2022 entdeckte ich dank eclipsed nicht nur euch, sondern auch die Von Hertzen Brothers aus Finnland. Anfang des Jahres wurde ich Subscriber bei Jim Newstead - a real english gentleman - und habe seitdem auf seinem Kanal etliches an Musik requested. VHB passen in keine Schublade, sie rocken, sie proggen und können auch Folk. Peace Patrol vom letzten Album ist ein mega Song, der wie ein 80er Popsong anfängt ... aber dann ... kann ich nur empfehlen ... und New Day Rising rockt voll los. Ich schrieb also einen Kommentar, sie bedankten sich und da Jim auch Musiker auf seinem Channel interviewt, habe ich gefragt, ob sie Interesse hätten. Ich kam in Kontakt mit ihrer Managerin und wir haben uns im Sommer beim Midsummerprog in Valkenburg /NL getroffen . Ich sass/stand mit Julia während des Konzerts in der ersten Reihe und sie waren das Highlight des Samstags, sogar besser als Riverside. Hinterher habe ich die 3 Brüder getroffen, einfach coole, lustige Finnen, positiv dem Klischee entsprechend. Genauso würde ich gerne ein paar eurer Songs bei Jim requesten und würde ihn auch fragen, falls ihr Interesse habt, ein Interview mit ihm zu machen. Falls es mit Konzerten in 24 klappen würde, wäre mega... zum Glück gibts im Pott jede Menge Locations, auch kleinere . Ich liebe das Zentrum Altenberg in Oberhausen, aber auch das Matrix ist klasse und natürlich die Zeche, nur leider etwas zu groß für euch, oder ? Um nochmal auf eure Musik zu kommen: musikalisch braucht ihr euch hinter keiner Band zu verstecken, Jim lobte dieser Tage noch Caligula's Horse, Tesseract, Periphery ... alle nicht schlecht, aber ihr hat Deibys. Er hebt euch aus der Menge heraus, einfach ein super Sänger. So ich hoffe, dieser kleine Exkurs des Musikfreunds und "verhinderten Schriftstellers" Rudi hat euch gefallen .... ich würde euch dann Bescheid geben, wenn Jim das reaction video gemacht hat, kann aber 'ne Weile dauern ... er macht halt nur 1Video pro Tag und wenn er zu ganzen CDs reagiert, sind oft schon 2 - 3 Tage der 5-Tage Woche weg. Vielleicht schreibst du ja mal kurz, was du von der ganzen Sache hältst. Schönes Wochenende und viel Spaß beim musizieren 😆 Rudi 🤘

I think the younger ones were a little bit better but I like the look of the first version more :)

@@Preincarnation I have a white version of the DX and a black one witch is the PRO version (both with the long lugs) they sound really deep and love the attack and the short sustain on them. I also bought the rare ASAMA from the 80's witch i understand came from the same factory as TAMA. ASAMA got a special funky paint on them. The mounting system is very similar of the PEARL mounts.

the Rockstars were great, I think the newer ones are of higher quality than they were in the first years, but it was always great value for money, what do you play these days?

thank you! the room is about 35m² maybe 40. The great sound comes from the mix. As this shows a good engineer can achieve a great sound without adding samples. Many of my heroes played it, Scott Rockenfield, Simon Phillips...

10", 12",13",14" Toms, 16" Floor Tom, 22" Bass Drums

If I remember correctly the price for the 5-piece Rockstar Pro kit was about the same as the price for a Artstar II bass drum. With the standard Rockstar kit costing even about 30% less than the Pro version. The difference was that the standard was all plywood and the Pro was plywood and american basswood. I really liked the Tom sound of the Rockstar but Artstar II sounds much better. :-)

IIRC I bought the 5-piece kit in late 1989 and added the 10" tom a few month later. the 14" tom and 22" kick were custom made by Tama because they had already changed the design when I had the money to buy them, I think I ordered them in summer 1990.
