And now they have tanks. Bollocks. Welp, Elite Anti Tanks teams Deploy! Sacrificial Grenadiers to the Front! I was Wondering how you got 70,000 more deaths between the previous episodes and this one, but the first battle explained that. Surprisingly the Grenadiers also have longer range than the Stormtroopers, and take longer to kill their targets, but they are cooler to look at so there's that. I feel that Stormtroopers should also have a morale reduction effect for enemy troops because who wouldn't be terrified by a wall of fire? And the tank arrives and wipes out everyone. Brutal. Much more effective than in real life, because these don't break down. good thing you had mortars there taking chunks out of it, otherwise you might have been screwed. Maybe sending Grenadiers instead of Riflemen up towards the front most trench would have been better, because their grenades are stupidly powerful on the defense, and as I've found out, can wipe out a company of infantry in seconds. And so can Stormtroopers, apparently, but Stormtroopers unfortunately aren't as good vs Tanks. Called 35,000, just a little high. definitely going to need more Elites and Grenadiers in the future, but a masterful defense against overwhelming odds. Another bloody wave crashes against Fortress Labussiere, and is once again found wanting, and cut down. Onto the second battle. Siege artillery doing some work there, destroying trenches. Harassment Planes are a pleasant surprise, and used quite effectively. Also, seeing how much the artillery were a nuisance, why not take some troops out of the bunker you captured and just grenaded them to death? That would have saved you a lot of time and worry. But then again, that siege gun blasting that battery apart was satisfying. 14,500 to 3,000 is a good ratio, good battle, inching closer to Paris.

With tanks making an appearance, you'll need to start putting in a wide outer ring of upgraded trenches that tanks can't cross until you have reinforced placements/anti-tank armaments/tanks of your own. I am curious about what the AI will do when faced with barbed wire that's placed front and back of the outer line of units that are placed in reinforced tranches connected with comms trenches, dose the AI bypass them, go into the comms trench and then attack the outer infantry, or go through the barbed wire? If you could try some barbed wire, budget permitting, around the positions closest to the edge of the map that the AI focuses on I would be interested in seeing how the AI changes its plan of attack, Thanks!

I think the raiders are better than flamethrowers since the flamethrowers don’t do as much damage as the raiders on approach and have less range while the raiders have a better chance of clearing a trench with their grednades and doing tons of damage offensively and defensively

That First Battle was kinda painful to watch, with a lot of avoidable casualties. It would have done you some good if you sent the artillery Before your men got into contact with the enemy. And maybe not throwing your expensive Stormtrooper and Grenadier companies into potentially manned trenches, again without Artillery cover, would have been helpful. Still, 4,000 to 15,000 is a decent K/D ratio. The Second battle. Jeez. Absolute Charnel House in that Corner. General Nivelle and Douglas "Butcher" Haig definitely in command right there, actual Bloody Hell. Alright tactical analysis time. Good use of Buffer zones and defense in depth, of using the trench traps you made use of in the last campaign you played, and a good use of your supply, although keeping your Grenadiers and Stormtroopers constantly moving would have been useful, so that they could fire even when not on the fire step. Mortars Can't damage troops in trenches. You discovered this in the last Campaign. I assume you forgot that was a thing. That Defense though, just sheer disregard of life those pushes were. I estimated 36,000 to 38,000 losses for the Entente, looks like I was a few thousand over. The 1917 French Army mutiny happening a year early? It could happen. Amazing Grace on Bagpipes at the end is fitting. Anyway, GAS!!!!!!! This should save a lot more of your troops, now that gas can just wear down their troops or even displace them from their trenches to be gunned down, which is Right Lovely. Keep on keeping on, Kommandant.

Did I not use the arty before hand ? I usually do , unless they were in the improved trenches ? Yea that second battle , they didn't let up at all , kinda felt bad 😂 Moving the grenadiers all the time is a pain , I only pause when doing large orders, and getting the arty to all fire at once XD Yea I forgot about the morters not slapping them while in a trench , thought they changed it , guess not XD
@wylandnares8642Күн бұрын
@@MoisTeaGaming I meant you sent the order for suppressing barrage while the attacking company was already being slaughtered by rifle fire from the back trenches, so they got there severely depleted and we're easily taken out. Kind of a waste of the 30 supply when the stormtrooper company gets gunned down in the middle of a field.

@@MoisTeaGaming If you have to repeat that defense again could you try putting some barbed wire to guide the AI to the comms trenches and away from the troops? The way that officer flanked them, just imagine if he was stone cold trying to kill them with a shortsword in that moment, the screams and panic as four or five guys beside you are suddenly buckled over with a mortal stab wound straight to the liver. It just goes to show that every era of warfare has its own special flavor of horror for those involved. In WWI, you saw the conditions in the trenches and no-man's land. In Vietnam, you could be butchered from any angle at any time. But for medieval combat, you have to look another man dead in the eyes as you both try to get an angle on each other around a shield and the first one who does is gonna prison shank the other like a feral animal.

First battle, was alright. A reminder that once on the fire step of a trench, units can only fire in front or behind them, not to their side. They weren't firing because they were out of that arc of fire (literally). keeping your Stormtroopers and Grenadiers moving between trenches lets them fire 360 degrees around them. 10,000 to 2,000 is still good. Second battle, again, another blunder with the right flank, twice, (this is a recurring theme), and the Stormtroopers once again somewhat underwhelming, fire apparently not as good as grenades when it comes to trench clearing, which is a surprise as the opposite was usually true in real life, but it is what it is. Also, just placing your Stormtroopers/Grenadiers outside the trench will keep them blasting and burning without going into hand-to-hand combat, and sending elite infantry to follow up in clearing the trenches tends to work well, albeit at cost of the unit burning/blasting the enemy. Still, 20,000 kills to 1,000 casualties is extremely efficient, and shows how powerful those units are, and how much combined arms warfare just wrecks an opposing army which is unprepared to handle it. I bet those Bombers saved at least a thousand lives taking out their artillery alone. Definitely go for gas, everyone loves gas. Well, Everyone that is not us, that is!

That first battle was quite a bit of an event, a few bungles here and there, but 14,500 to 4,300 is Right Lovely. That second battle was a bit of a bungle, especially with that right flank, and the Stormtroopers were somewhat underwhelming, but that raider unit near the Heavy Artillery, at 47:47, they were absolutely the MVP of that battle, taking down several entire companies of allied troops before being overrun, and a great example of why I advocate for raiders/grenadiers so vehemently. In the End, 22,000 to 3,000 is a really good ratio, especially against a well fortified position like that, which is Right Lovely.
@wylandnares86428 күн бұрын
Blizzard in the first battle does make things difficult for both sides, but a prodigious amount of smoke cover does wonders to keep your troops from dying horribly, still 2 to 1 ratio on an attacking force. Not bad. Also, Mortars Ho! That second battle... Jesus. THAT was a WW1 battle. Lucky you had so much artillery, that could have gone far worse. Still, 20,000 killed to 6,000 losses is a good ratio, and Calais is nearly done.
@wylandnares86428 күн бұрын
I was wondering why you hadn't uploaded, but apparently you just disappeared from my feed for 3 weeks. Weird stuff. First battle was a textbook assault, not much to say, very good stuff, and the jittering was from having your game set to half speed. Oops. Second battle, Surprised the corpses haven't been buried or decomposed yet, usually that's done immediately after a battle, while the bodies haven't decomposed. They also sometimes strip the most intact uniforms off the corpses and fix them to be used again. You pronounced Tirailleurs correctly, which is nice. Strategic withdrawal was well executed, and the brave sacrifice of the MG Nests helped that. I expected 12,00 enemy casualties for around 500 to 600 casualties, so 15,000 to 800 is close to that, which is a really good ratio. I wonder what it would be like if you could combine two damaged units together to form a single unit, where you can just feed units into the front trench without needing to cycle them out and not needing to bring up reserve companies. Good stuff nontheless.

I did slow down for a bit , lots of changes , just didn't have time , but getting into it again now that I can squeeze recordings in :) I put it on half speed ? What a lemon , must have missed clicked it 😁 Yea on a film can't remember which one. But they were giving uniforms to the new conscripts which had been taken from the dead , stitched up z name tags removed , and giving them to the eger recruits who hadn't experienced war yet , mad isn't it I pronounced something correctly ? Are you sure ? Think that's a first 😂
