I only just randomly came across this stuff today. So based on my limited understanding, these motors can also be associated with diseases through mutations. This I believe opens up the possibility discovering what causes what is commonly defined as Dyskinetic Syndrome (loss of control over mobility, random mobility) in Tarantulas and other arachnids within the pet trade - which either ends up in a painful death for the animal, or "Mercy Euthanized" by the owner to end the animal's suffering - without ever there being a chance of recovery. If you were to find/locate a tarantula with DKS, it could become possible to: A: Identify what exactly is causing DKS B: Potentially come up with a mechanism which could help cure/treat arachnids and other animals suffering from such conditions. C: How would such a study and potential treatment be applied to non-humans?

Look up “Phage treatment for antibiotic resistant bacterial infections” Phages are the most numerous life from on the planet and probably helped baptize those with leprosy and other bacterial infections in the bible. It’s been used to treat horses for many years. It greatly reduces the mortality rate and scarring for torn skin

At the same time, she's regurgitating the woke mantra, e.g. "exchange knowledge with people whose perspectives have been excluded from science" and "reimagine". The use of these typical critical social justice dog whistles, does call into question her integrity and/or sanity somewhat. Why would you use these phrases?

I first saw a presentation by Dr. Bassler more than 10 years ago and have been fascinated by what I regard as her breakthrough work ever since. My field is not biology, but I cannot stop thinking about the implications. What I wonder most about is whether quorum sensing/signaling can be put to work in cancer therapy. Clearly, there is a new line of research in infectious bacterial disease and possibly viral disease, and it seems reasonable to me that anti-cancer research is closely related. Has the mainstream of research once again neglected a new line of research? @smartereveryday, please consider interviewing Dr. Bassler.
