Awesome batrep! We've been planning to homebrew some Vietnam games ourselves too. I wonder how you handled the automatic rifles, 2-3 shots per figure or to keep it sane just 1 per model?
@LongShotWargaming
@LongShotWargaming 3 ай бұрын
Yes, this created quite a conversation when we were brainstorming. We did give AK-47 and M16 type rifles a RoF of 2. This gave American squads a tremendous amount of firepower. But, another modification we made was adding 1 to the cover save of any VC unit. The result was the American squads expending an unbelievable amount of ammunition to score just a couple hits. Which in our opinions proves quite historically accurate.

Kinda stumbled on this. I am not familiar with the rule set but I am wondering if there are rules for supporting units. As in real like if a Tier 1 unit with support from an allied nation's intelligence direct action organization were going after an HVT there would be some type of real time intelligence support such as a drone or other asset. If some one could let me know as this war game rules sound interesting.
@LongShotWargaming
@LongShotWargaming 3 ай бұрын
Spectre is cool and does have rules for a lot of support assets. EOD, dog handlers, snipers, etc. There are rules for drone use. But, the cool thing about this rule set and most for that matter is that you can create specific rules yourself to fill a specific interest. Also, Spectre can be very scenario driven meaning, if there's s story you have in mind PLAY IT!

Thank you for posting this. My father was actually an M113 tank commander in the Black Horse during Vietnam. It was odd seeing the video - as I've never seen most of that before. I really enjoyed the video. Here's some more recent 11th ACR history for you. I served in HHT Regiment (Hellraisers) in Fulda Germany as a Bradley mechanic from 88 to 92 and got sent to Ft. Polk right before the draw down. We went to Kuwait as an occupation force right after Desert Storm. One of the M1 tanks caught on fire and cooked off the rounds onboard spreading to other vehicles and creating carnage throughout the vehicle lines. I remember the SGT Major crawling under a M35 Deuce-and-a-half next to me to avoid flying rounds and debris. We lost some folks during and after as we had to walk around picking up unexploded ordnance and drop it into sand-bag lined trailers pulled by Humvees. What a waist.
