do you know the baltic sea, in klaipėda there is a palanga where theres a REALLY big beach, and its very very clean, you can build so much there cuz there is a lot of sand there hope you will like the palanga (and also theres ice cream, i really like that place, i wish i'd be there another good time :) )

Also, Scandinavia is a latin portmanteau of Scania and the sea - there's no reference to a peninsula or mountains or dramatic scenery, literally it's flat ocean and fields Fuuuurther more, the entire reason anyone talks about Scandinavia is because of the panscandinavian unionist movement in the early 19th century, which started in Denmark and was named after a former Danish region in southern Sweden It is called a socio-cultural region. *loud angry Danish noises* Seriously though, i'm gonna have a linguistic brain fart if i hear another person claim that a noun was named after the possessive noun based on the noun it apparently created. It drives me up a wall, because it makes no sense. The concept of a "Japanese mountain" like mt. Fuji cannot exist without the noun "Japan" existing. My brain hurts just contemplating why that is such a difficult concept to grasp, it's completely backwards.
