This is fascinating, but I am used to discussing the wisdom of Mother Eve in making the decision she did, and I wasn't sure if this perspective encouraged that view or not.

here is the power...what you "know" does not determine "who" you know. Some know Yeshua and do not know his name..better than those who do "know his name" . Feel that....Unite, those whom know me , even if you do not know my name.... Unite. For those of you who know me, but do not know my name, are closer to me, than many who do know my name. Obviously..only imo as I am no prophet but am only a truth-seeker like many of you.

Not all Latter Day Saints have a church to attend, many are nondenominational. And, not all Latter Day Saints worship on Sundays. We provide these on Saturdays so that everyone has an opportunity to worship on either day.

My takeaway is that religion is awful in all its iterations and that abuse of women and children is allowed. Priests cover up child molestation, Mormons and Muslims think that marrying 14 year olds is fine and I could go on and on. So why would anyone in their right mind follow any of these religions??

it really does! i never would have expected believing as i do know. or believing at all. i found a way to be chrisitian again. in part due to the Book of Mormon and even more so due to the Restoration as a whole. the highest honor goes to my Heavely Mother ofc. bc She planned the whole thing and was with me and embraced me when i decided, yes! i want a relationship with God. i want a relationship with Christ. i want to follow the path They lead me too. I was a bit scared of God the Father bc of the past. No longer, but i am sure that is one reason She approached me as she did. a bit off topic, but not completely bc God deserves or praise. just really grateful for the Book of Mormon and so much more.

Shalom Mike and Kyle. Thanks for this. Also, David, as you were sharing your message today, I was thinking about WHEN we should go to a shepherd for "confession" of sins, and I think that the answer to that is probably if we are trying to move on, and find that even when we try to move on, we feel encumbered by something. If it refuses to rinse away with prayer, then the Lord has provided a tool to help us let go of the mistakes we've made. We can go to a Priest or Priestess (Bishop, pastor, shepherd), and unload our burden and ask for wisdom on how to be free of it. This passage promises that the wisdom we receive by doing that will be sufficient to free us, if we are willing to act upon it.

Considering Nephi and Laban had already tried to get the plates two other times, it's unreasonable to think they would not be suspects.
@cjccf
@cjccf 4 ай бұрын
I presume you mean Laman :) That would mean that they probably went looking for Lehi's sons (likely Laman more than Nephi as Laman did the talking, but really all 4 of them). If you are correct, then there was even less reason for Nephi to kill Laban, as they were going to try to hunt them down regardless. I can imagine the Lord stepping in and using Zoram as the scapegoat in a number of ways to keep the people from seeking out Lehi's family. After all, they were able to go back later to get Ishmael's family with what seems like relative ease. I am hopeful that Nephi cut the head off of a dead man so that he wasn't a murderer, but no matter how you look at the story there is just no reason for God to tell Nephi to murder Laban in cold blood.
@StevenRetz
@StevenRetz 4 ай бұрын
@@cjccf yes I meant Laman, that was a typo. It was not Nephi's idea to kill Laban, Nephi did not want to do it even though the Spirit told him to. I am not following your reasoning for less reason to kill Laban. But there are other times in the scriptures that YHWH directed His servants to kill wicked men, all in accordance to Torah. The record states that Laban was drunk not dead. And Nephi wasn't a murder. Nephi did not kill in cold blood. You are perverting the history because you don't like what it is teaching.

There are two types of wisdom. * Wisdom that is gained from experience. * Wisdom that is gained from the Spirit. Wisdom is the principle thing, in all thy getting get understanding (Proverbs of Solomon). the knowledge of the holy is understanding (Proverbs of Solomon). Wisdom leads to greater understanding, ans greater undrrstanding leads to knowledge. the spiritual light of pure knowledge that is sometimes imputed, it comes to all in varying degrees. The light of truth is the light of wisdom, and the light of knowledge. It's not necessarily what is imputed to one, but what is perceived by one (Abr 3:19).
