I was 12 when this show came out, but my parents loved it. I didn't understand half of what he was banging on about, but I loved it too. Watching back now it seems to me that things were nearly as bonkers as they are now, it is just that it is so much easier to see how completely absurd life in the UK is. In a weird way, it gives me hope. We're still here! Sort of.....🤪

Bill bailey is a fantastic musician, and a really nice guy as well. I met him a few times in the early 1990's when he would buy Guitar stuff from me outsite a Curry's shop, where I sold the same products at well below their price (even their staff bought off me as I was still cheaper including their 10% staff discount.) Bill was a really lovely customer to deal with.

The music used on the gallery section of take Hart was recorded in one take by a group of session musicians and they messed up the middle 8 but decided to keep it as recorded. The tune is called LEFT BANK TWO by The Noveltones. Recorded during a break in making a backing track album.

You Tube Due to You tube "excessive" censorship and now the draconian adblock mschief, I beg of you to stop using yt and at least "back up " your videos to another platform such as rumble or bitchute or oddessy. While I understand adverts generate revenue, You tube adverts are misplaced ( in the middle of a song) Spam, trackers etc, and excessively long in some cases. The REASON why people use adblockers. I personally dont mind product placement if the creator stands behind the product, and the promotion of that product generates an income stream. However you tube imho is taking the piss. There are better platforms. Sorry for the rant

In these sketches you can see the evolution of Edgar Wright's style of visual comedy that he would later use in Spaced and Hot Fuzz.

Many thanks for uploading this. Much has changed for me personally since this aired and looking at it now is very different and still even more funny. Hard to believe that this aired so long ago, but it did. His delivery was amazing, and he was a writer first, stand up was the only way he could get his material out there.

I had this on a tape years ago, and must have listened to it 50 times. It still cracks me up. I'm actually trying to find the part called "town planner". Every time I drive in Lillestrøm, I think about that one.

A tree does not make a sound when it falls in a forest and no one is around, for the reason that 'sound' isnt an independently existing thing. Sound is a word that describes a state of affairs, namely, the existence of vibrations in the air in proximity to a correctly functioning auditory system, whether biological or technological. Vibrations are picked up by the ear, hammered out and sent to the brain as an electric signal (no longer a vibration), where it is interpreted by the brain into 'sound'. To elaborate on the technological: a microphone and speaker, or any recording device, does the same thing - the microphone doesn't record sound, it copies the vibrations. When played through a speaker, the speaker replicates those vibrations and sends them through the air to be picked up by the ear and converted into sound. The tree in the forest example can be summarised like this: A tree falls in a forest and no one is around. As the tree falls it creates vibrations in the air. If there were an auditory system nearby it would convert the vibration into sound. But there isn't, so it doesn't.

I met Bill Bailey once .. back in 1999 at Lizard Fest (Solar Eclipse). Shook his hand .. and couldn’t think of ANYTHING to say .. so I blurted out “I LOVVVVEE YOU!!!!” .. Like a f**king idiot. Fotunately for me he seems to get that a lot. Fantastic guy that I’ve enjoyed since he first appeared on TV. Was so proud to see him on Black Books .. and eventually Dr. Who (He needs a much bigger part on that show).
