It worked man , my car was shifting so bad, I thought the TCM had to be changed I did this then took my car for a drive and it worked so thank you .

this fix is only temporary, you still need a new tcm lol it’ll start acting up again in a few weeks to a month

ok bro, did this and drove to the store and back - seems to be running and driving just fine now after failing last night and getting the transmission fault message - fingers crossed it stays cool awhile - thanks a million!

Thank you my friend. I followed your instructions. Something started ticking. Then when I turned the car off completely even with a remote control I locked the car and opened, then started. The ticking went away and I started driving

1. Turn on car 2. Shift car into neutral 3. Turn off the car 4. Wait 15 seconds 5. Turn transmission to park position 6. Turn on car (DO NOT START)!!! 7. Wait 15 seconds.... 8. Turn off your car 2 seconds 9. Turn on your car 2 seconds (DO NOT START) 10. Shift car into neutral to complete the TCM reset I am about to try this will post my results if it worked in the process. Just figured some people might want see the process written down. Hope that it works for me later 🤞

It worked for me, and it (so far, knock on wood, it lasts) is like driving a new car. It's totally different from what I'm used to. I've only owned it for 13K miles, and wow, what a huge difference so far. The next thing i will be doing is changing the transmission fluid out and going from there.

Did you need to reset the TCM because it was replaced? Or was it losing gears and not going into reverse? If that's the case, it will just have the same issues again.

Thanks - finally got it to work, it’s a slightly different process on mine, much simpler. It reset but when I turn the car on it does the same thing and says transmission malfunction. Will check what Ford have to say

You my friend are an internet wizard. The dealership wanted $3,000 to replace the dual clutch. I replaced the clutch actuators ($140), fixed the electrical grounding, and did your magic Vudu and the car shifts like new. I have put 500 miles on it since trying your magic and it hasn't missed a gear since. Thank you.

@T. Stew there is another trick taught to me by a Ford mechanic. It's called scrubbing the clutch. You need to find a nice strip of pavement with no traffic. Come to a stop (it works well at night getting on a highway on ramp for me) and then floor it and let the car run through all 6 gears which means you'll be at like 70MPH once you get into the last gear (6th). It's best to do it at least twice and then you'll notice the car begins to shift a million times better than before. I don't really understand why it works, he explained it to me but I didn't understand, lol. But it definitely works!

I assume it’s not the fright click to the right on ignition as can’t shift in that. But yeah I can’t get it to say ‘transmission reset’ so now sure haha
