Seems great but seems only compatible with zwift app so if they bring subscription price up next year by 20% going to be a lot harder to move away from it heading already dropped 1300 on the bike

Solid overview Tariq. Coros have put themselves (and a few reviewers) under.a LOT of pressure by saying things will be fixed when the unit launches. When the DURA failed to alert for an approaching vehicle, I was tempted to throw it straight in the bin. Sending out devices in a very unfinished state is one thing (and one thing they only really reminded me of when I was feeding back to them it wasn't working/ready), but being out there in traffic testing a unit that won't alert when there is a connected radar device - straight up irresponsible. They've used the media as their testing pool... which a lot of companies do. There's just something that doesn't feel right about how Coros have gone about it. It has been a messy release.
@mlegrand4 күн бұрын
I think it was super smart to wait a few extra days before posting your review instead of rushing out a review (like mine 😬). It's also missing a Climber feature and Strava segments. Those COROS devs have a lot of work to do. Thanks for making this video! Excellent as always!
@SmartBikeTrainers3 күн бұрын
Your review was excellent Matt as well. The Dura has a lot of potential and I have no doubt it will be a win eventually after they address some of these issues. Particularly the Varia radar problems. For now, we will wait to see their updates :)
@chuckb43754 күн бұрын
Tariq, Firstly, I always appreciate your presentation style and perspective! Sometimes other reviews have a lot of data, but don't give me a real sense of what it's like to use (e.g., scroll wheel, what 74k Lux really means, etc.). On battery life + solar, I am hoping that Coros will use this advantage to deliver significantly improved battery health / lifespan. Users who mostly do daylight rides could choose default battery charge thresholds that stop charging the battery at 60%. This is similar to how charging threshold works now on many laptop PCs. The solar source could make discharge depth quite small, further extending battery lifespan. Last year I had to throw away a 3yr-old bike computer that was otherwise in excellent condition, except that its battery was worn out and non-replaceable 😞
@SmartBikeTrainers3 күн бұрын
If solar charging was implemented correctly, it should not affect battery health. Solar charging provides slower, charging speed, more gradual charge compared to wall chargers and can help extend the intervals between conventional charging cycles. It remains to be seen how this will impact the Dura’s battery health. Glad you enjoyed my review and thank for watching 🙏🏼
@chuckb43753 күн бұрын
@@SmartBikeTrainersGood point about inherently slower charge rates of solar - I try to charge using USB 2.0 ports (2.5W). Regardless of charge rate/source, keeping Li-ion battery full all the time really hurts health/longevity. I hope the Dura design will enable charge level limits to preserve battery health, just like many laptops/cars/smartphones.

I would buy it right away if it had a magnetic resistance and V-belt. I am afraid it still makes to much noise riding it next tot the room where my 3 years old son sleeps. Regarding using the Zwift Ride sometimes without Zwift -- anyone know how many RESISTANCE mode levels you set (should be same as Wahoo Kicker Core since same device)? They show 0-100% but by what increments? Someone at Wahoo told me 5% increments so 20 levels, but I thought I saw a plus/minus 1% control in a Wahoo app example?

MyWhoosh is absolute garbage. My computer is capable of rendering 4k yet MyWhoosh defaluts to what looks like 480p every time I start it up - regardless of what I have my graphics set to. If I then reset it above this default value it crashes. Its physics engine is also rubbish. I go up a hill - I slow down - as expected. It then levels out - my speed does not change - I stop pedalling and suddenly I am doing 35kph. Every sign in every country is in Arabic - seriously - is there an agenda here?

You mention in the video that when syncing workouts to Strava, cadence and power don’t sync in the beta version - since we are way past that did they fix that or is that still the way it works? I just got powerlink pedals and the first workout didn’t sync power to Strava. I did get cadence to sync - just wondering if this is the way it works or if I’m doing something wrong. I’ve tried reaching out to Strava support, but doesn’t seem helpful. Thanks

To my knowledge, Strava is still not pulling everything from Apple Watch. The only thing it’s pulling is distance and HR. I don’t even see cadence.

Came back to try new worlds. Still had problems connecting my bike to Mywhoosh and resistance did not feel right. Also, all the banners and graffiti on the natural rides are just way too distracting. Why would there be spray paint on rocks and trees, just plain silly. And the banners. You do not need one every 5 feet again silly. Most of the time can not even read them they're just ugly and ruin the experience. Even though it is free, zwift still a much better experience.

IndiVelo was never developed with the aim to become a Zwift alternative, but a way to show how physics could work in an indoor training app and how it is possible to force people to be honest. It even started with a single developer. He now got some help in creating more routes. IndiVelo shows how the weakest points of Zwift can be solved. It would be awesome if the two will work together.

@SmartBikeTrainers16 күн бұрын
The Zwift HUB one with the cog can work with MyWhoosh if you only use it in Erg mode. However, if you ride in sim mode, you won’t have the ability to adjust gearing since virtual gearing isn’t supported in MyWhoosh.
@Flint_Westwood13 күн бұрын
You can remove the Cog and install a cassette instead then use your shifters. The only aspect you lose is the electronic shifting. The Zwift Hub itself works fine with MyWhoosh.
