5:42 incredible recovery from a pretty big mistake -- astounding how he was not only able to keep going but recover in an almost-unnoticeable way. Saw him in Philly last year playing Beethoven op 110, Liszt Bm, and Rach op 32 -- he seems always to have been magnificent

What a wonderful day)) I found 3 wonderful friends of Boris. I think this friendship is forever. Since the other 2 were found a few months ago - John Elliot Gardner and D D Shostakovich)) Now they live with me. I am very happy about this. I feel very good with them. p s Boris, my friend, thank you for the wings. I think if there is a miracle in modern music - it is unconditionally - you, your magical, so understandable playing, such soft, velvety touches similar to the touches of your loved one)) Thank you for your enormous talent and your natural charm - because Rachmaninov in inept hands can break the heart. With Love Andreijfrom Harestua Norway❤❤❤

Hey Boris, I just wanted to mention that you have the most consistently perfect playing combined with a profound understanding of the music. It's beyond my comprehension. Especially considering that you're working on all 32; how the heck can you do all that so perfect? Masterpiece played by a master👏🏼👏🏼

Why does it sound like you're actively holding back here?
@jonasdaverio9369Ай бұрын
I think it's partly due to the recording. I felt frustrated when I recorded myself with bad equipment and lost the intensity of the live performance. But at the same time, I think the performance here is indeed a bit too cautious in particular on the left hand on times.

I love his performance but the tempo switches are sometimes too much for me! I found the performance of Lucas Vondrocek much better.

I think you are really deaf. What a joke to say the performance of Vondracek is better and Giltburg did too much tempo switches.

This Pleyel piano sounds fascinating! The historical significance of Chopin potentially playing it adds another layer to the performance. While the soundboard might have subtle changes due to its age, the overall performance was truly lovely. A beautiful rendition of this beloved Mazurka.
