What is wrong with the 200$ walmart bikes tho genuinely.? I'm looking into doing trails and trying mtn bike out. But if your just doing it as a hobby what's the bad
@NickandKatieMTB
@NickandKatieMTB Күн бұрын
The main concern is how they are assembled. When you buy a bike from a bike shop it is assembled by a bike mechanic, if you buy one from Walmart it is put together by an employee who may or may not assemble it safely. Also Walmart bikes are typically made with cheaper components that may not be able to handle the demands of off road riding. Many bikes from Walmart that look like mountain bikes even say "not for off road use" on the stickers. If you aren't doing much off road riding and can also look over the bike for safety, you may be able to get away with buying one. For most people I recommend staying away from Walmart bikes. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching! 🤙

I have 3 mtn bikes with 60, 90, and a 100 mm rise bars. At 65 it takes all the pressure off my hands and shoulders and the front wheel lighter for uphill tech climbs over rocks and roots. If you have back pain, it can help with that too. I shortened my stems to 35mm as well.

Why change the handlebar? Much improvement with the Burgtec? Assuming stock was Raceface?
@NickandKatieMTB
@NickandKatieMTB 16 күн бұрын
Yup the stock bars were RaceFace Chester bars. I had the Burgtec bars leftover as a takeoff from another bike and thought they would look and perhaps ride nicer since they are what comes with the higher end build kits. Burgtec is one of my favorite brands as well. Hard to say if they really made a notable improvement or not though! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!

Im considering upgrading from 180 to 203 front and back but my breaks have only 2 pistons (Shimano MT201). Do you think only upgrading the disks would be enough to get a segnificant increase in break power? Or is 4 pistons the way to go? They are not all that great now.
@NickandKatieMTB
@NickandKatieMTB 23 күн бұрын
@@eirichen I think it would be an improvement if you need like 20% more power. You could always upgrade to 203 rotors and if it doesn’t help enough then upgrade to the 4 piston brakes. Hope this helps!
