Looked very challenging, but obviously worth it. You guys still out there, its been almost 1 year since I arrived back from sailing NZ to Fiji with Scotty and I still miss the cruising life very much. Enjoy!

@@sailing_tassies_adventures yes, in real time we’re in Vanuatu. It has been worth the challenges ! But Tassie/NZ are great too, aren’t they!

How much coral bleaching also in FIJI are? 30 years ago i was going silly about coral reefs, daily 5-6 hours head in the waters😍 Quite and paradise!

@@Silvius.2 there is a lot of damage, both from cyclones and bleaching, but the healthy bits are so glorious! I’d love to know the time scales of damage for each area.

3:22 I am brand new to your blog, and I am impressed. You don't have a boat, you have a vessel, a sailing yacht. Good on you. I'm just a coastal sailor now, but when I grow up, I want to be you, except that, you know, get some better weather. Ick. 😝

0:38 Hate to say it but that fog shrouded dismal weather looks like Germany, most of the year except you're missing dirty snow on the ground. Did you check your GPS? Are you sure about your Lat/Lon? 🤔

Interesting as usual, I tried to get into Parengarenga, 9th February in my Nova 28 'Connie', but there was an Easterly 1.6m swell running, got half way and turned round, too much white water, old charts and no local knowledge. Good to know there is plenty water for next time. Thanks for sharing.😊

We draw 1.8m. There were a bunch of shallow entries up top. We lucked out with calm weather and moved on rising tide close to springs high. We had good tips about the shifting sand bars.We didn’t count on getting into any of these potentially dodgy places and had a Plan B. Glad you liked it!

I know you can not film it. What struck me on the passage. Watches 2400 to 400 under that vast sky full of stars forever with not a soul for hundreds of miles except you little boat surging along in the vast emptiness. The southern cross slowly coming higher on the horizon as the days past . Soul searing. We run Fiji to Auckland in six and a half days in a 45foot 22 ton concrete Hartley Tahitian ketch with only the two of us . Straight line broad reach under Yankee jib, one reef main and full mizen the entire way . You could guess what that was like.

Commenting for the algorithm. Nice Your and Steve seem like well... people I would be happy to meet in an anchorage one day. I liked his grin going thought that rough water in another vid Boat yoga is really hard because you only ever do those contortions once ....hopefully. Glad you like the NZ experience.

lol lived and sailed for two years around NZ and Fiji. I related to the difference in speed between a car and a yacht . In a cruising yacht . Six knots = motorway speed. Nine knots you are really racing is scary fast.
