Pouring water on a grease fire is almost as bad as pouring gasoline on it. The problem is that the water turns to steam and the steam cloud carries the burning droplets of grease in the cloud which will spread it everywhere the cloud goes, It basically turns it into a napalm fire. The only way to use water effectively on a grease fire is with a high pressure water hose with a fog pattern or a foam nozzle. Grease fires can be extinguished with large amounts of water but usually there isn't enough water available to put out most typical grease fires in a house or restaurant. It would be more practical to have a special fire extinguisher on hand.

This video was shared during CDL training. Very sad and but I understand why it needed to be shown. Passed a driver watching video's a month or so ago and I got on the radio and told him to stop before he kills someone but I added a few extra choice words. My wife thought I was being hard on him and she was listening through my headset. A few weeks later she sent me an article where a driver took out a family as he was distracted watching movies on his phone. At that point she completely understood my anger!

Every time I see Joe's picture I break down. Seeing Emma Jean so sad when I've always seen her with a smile breaks my heart. The driver was sentenced to 4 days in jail - 2 days on the anniversary of his death one year and two days the next year. This is an abysmal punishment, she should be in jail for MUCH longer for taking a life but Joe's families wishes were to give the driver grace because "she didn't mean to." That was Emma Jean's wish so I accept it, but I don't like it! Drivers know that there is no accountability so they have little reason to care.

Sad but I see it all day everyday drivers and not just truckers all on the phones it seems almost no one is listening until its too late . 8 seconds? It actually takes less then that to ruin your life and someone elses. Don't text and drive . Such a sad story of a innocent man killed because of someone else's negligence. Truly sad.

Sick to death of this kind of story. I dont care how remorseful he is. He is a selfish, irresponsible, prick. How many stories like this does it take to stop people doing something so very dangerous. My phone goes into the glove box every time I take the car.

this makes me think im glad i didnt kill anyone caught drinking driving twice long time ago now i look back realize how stupid and how many lives i put in danger i feel so foolish this guy lost his wife it hit me i started tearing made me think that could have been me who killed there mother i quit drinking been sober couple years now will never look back

well obviously that tiny amount of water isn’t gonna work. if you submerge it in A LOT of water it will go out. i had a grease fire in my oven and i dumped about a gallon of water on it at the same time bc it was in a huge bowl and it went out. just don’t be stupid.

Troopers, refuse to work in HENNEPIN or Ramsey county. If you can, try to get employed in a State that enforces the law and does not protect criminals like Minnesota does.
