The Castle is said to be haunted to but I've never experienced any sort of bad vibes or paranormal activity so far. There has been a few videos on KZfaq showing some ghost hunts they looked pretty interesting. I really love this castle very much although it sadly lays in ruins it will forever be in my heart! Thank you for showing this beautiful castle and for the others you have covered in your other videos. 🙂🤍❤💚🏰

I shared a terrifying haunting there with 6 other people in the late 80's, in the room that appears at 3:15. I couldn't sleep alone for weeks after. We felt as though we were being shown what pandemonium feels like. Always have another route out.

I was born not too far from Chambercombe Manor and my family lived a stones throw away. My aunty had the tea shop at Chambercome Manor. Can't remember exactly when but a while ago. I don't think I've ever visited the manor though funny enough.

even better you can rent the garden cottage and stay there when all the folks have gone. Had a wonderful stay there just last 2 weeks

We tried to visit Rochester Castle last year on out holidays but had to give up. Apparantly there was a graduation ceremony in the catherdal next door and the whole of the city was overrun with students and family and the limited parking was completely full. Tried for an hout to find a space in the car parks and on the road but had to concede defeat. Instead, we found a little place called Upnor Castle across the river, plently of free parking and a really nice pub next door which did an amazing curry.

One small point of detail: Brougham Castle isn't in The Lak District. It's in Cumbria buy outside the National Park.

The England had churches of Celtics Church before the Roman catholic came in Kent, the Kent Queen was Christian but her king was pagan then a Christian

Great informative video, thank you. We went there yesterday & its great to walk around. Then we went to the museum to see the skeleton that was found in 1988.

Glad you enjoyed it! The museum is wonderful, some lovely paintings of the castle and information about it (if I remember correctly), I don't actually remember the skeleton but that gives me an excuse to return :)

This is where I grew up. I grew up camping in the castle, swimming in the Devil's basin, and spending night after night waiting to see the nun. Good Friday was a great time to go there. Local tradition led dozens of families up there on that day for picnics, etc. My mum still lives in the family home on the edge of the forest.

Thank you for the video. I am a little puzzled that there did not seem to be any fireplaces suggesting this fortress was meant for garrison purposes only. Did you see any remains of fireplaces or kitchen ovens? Best wishes, Veronique.

A central tenet of English law is "Nemo dat quad non habet", ie you cannot acquire legal ownership from someone who did not have a legal right to ownership himself. Although occupied by Anglicans, Caterbury Catherdral clearly remains a Catholic church. Furthermore the first article of Magna Carta states that the nonarch has no authority over the Church. The majority of the original copies of Magna Carta that were on display in most English cathdrals suddenly disappeared after the Anglicans took them over.
