I have used a fair bit of that stuff, my advice would be to get a damp microfiber, spray the wax onto the cloth and then apply. If you spray it directly on you will get streaking (i wouldn't apply it in direct sunlight either tbh)........ Bit counter intuitive putting it into a spray bottle and then not spraying it on but that way you get good results. Just to add, it is well worth doing the second coat after 24 hours thing, on a preped car i've seen it still beading 8-10 months later with just basic hand washes sporadically.

Are you thinking about a Quickjack? I think about one every time I do a fluid change...still working off ramps and stands myself! If you're going to work on these things invest in an Autel 808 scan tool or equivalent. The wired tool is cost effective. The bluetooth version is awesome because you can take the tool with you anywhere you're working to read temperatures or actuate things. Kinda pricy but in this day and age it just as important as having a good impact and sockets!
@Portie221610 күн бұрын
Ah yes, the Quickjacks.... I NEED them!!! One of these days I definitely will get them, so useful!!! And thanks for the intel on the Autel - I'll look at that as well! I bought the iCarsoft because it was cheap for the number of features it has - Durametric is good but limited on number of cars unless you pay the big bucks for professional version. Given what the tools can do these days plus the need for them on common maintenance tasks, you really need a good one! Agreed they are pretty much essential these days - thanks for the tip @YoshiV819!!!

Why not buy and use a torque wrench to put the plug in the pan? I don’t understand why people don’t invest $50 for a decent one. Most Toyotas use 30 Ft Lbs on the oil pan nut. Too tight and I guarantee the threads will fall out way too soon and a new oil pan is needed. Too loose and it might lose oil and because it’s hidden you might not catch it. BUY ONE.

Nice video of the process! My 21 S has been worked pretty good on a couple of summers of awesome road trips in the Rocky Mountains. I typically do my own maintenance, I was at 40k and wanted to do brake and PDK fluid. In Porsche pricing brake fluid changes are practically free at my local dealer and that's a time consuming pain at this point in my life. I went ahead and also scheduled the PDK fluid to just get it done. No problems but on the bill of materials it stated a "sealant" additive was added to the PDK. My dealer is reputable and they sell a lot of Macan so they are probably on to something. Any knowledge of this? Love your brown interior BTW, I'd love that with a carmine red exterior!
@Portie2216Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching @YoshiV819 - I'll be honest, I have not heard of the "sealant" and did a quick search on the internet as well, nothing I could find readily. Would love to hear if any other Macan or PDK drivers have heard of this - very interesting. I used the Porsche maintenance manual I found online so it could be outdated for what is now recommended - thanks for chiming in with that info!!!! And I really like the brown interior too - kinda puts it in a class on it's own from other Turbos of that era!

i hate the uv5r programming. TOTALLY COUNTER INTUITIVE!! I own 4 for them and can't stand the 100% guaranteed programming steps to configure even ONE repeater station. Just ridiculous. It's like the developers were totally wasted when they designed the interface. Chirp works of course. But when you are in the field and need to adapt, the steps should be against the law.
