I just got an ifor williams trailer second hand that I needed to do this maintenance on. I bottled it though and dropped it off at Hexham trailers. Nice to hear another Northumbrian. I'm just down the road in Blyth. Very informative video.

Thanks @Gazman. We're just a couple of regular guys trying to to do our own maintenance. We prefer to tell it as it is. I've just uploaded a video showing where we went wrong in this video.

Great video just what I needed. Can I ask if you are using 45 socket? I’ve got 46 and it feels a bit slack on the nut. Cheers.

It’s a 45mm, just finished servicing mine.

As Angus 57 says, it's probably 45mm but I must have used a 46mm as I've just checked my socket set and I don't have a 45mm. Hope that helps.

What was wrong with the auto? Guessing it's 8 speed, which I thought was bulletproof?
@61special2 ай бұрын
Yes, it is an 8 speed. It was jumping gears. There were quite a lot of bits of metal in the filter. For the price of a second hand box it wasn't worth the hassle of finding out what the problem was. We got the box from the same people that we got the engine from and they're pretty reliable.

Wow that 3rd one would have defeated me, how did it go so tight?
@61special2 ай бұрын
Hi @AngusAbbott-qf8xm I'm not sure how, but it was seriously tight. I had the same problem with my locking wheel stud on the car. I broke two sockets trying to get one off. It was only two months since I had the wheel off and I definitely didn't over tighten it. One of life's mysteries.

Nice video and rebuild A lot of those vehicles have tracked wheel replacements (places with lots of snow seem to use them), just bolt on normally on hub, could be worth looking into for the wetter half the year
@61special3 ай бұрын
Hi @williamwazere. Thanks for the comment. I'm sure the tracks would be useful, but we couldn't justify the expense, especially when the quad bike will do anything the Gator will and more. The only advantage the Gator has for us is that it's safer for kids to ride in ( and it keeps the rain off ).

I regularly get a call from the man next door for a pull out with his JD gatter I go with Kubota ecivalant and pull it out and prove it's shite in the wet bits by driving though the wet bit and not getting stuck 🤣

Does it work the opposite if I want to bring the window down just slightly ?
@61special11 ай бұрын
@SH-vw1ei Yes it does, but be careful. You might need to push the window down as you're unwinding the adjusters. It's possible that the regulator arm moves down and the window stays where it is. I hope that makes sense.

@61special Жыл бұрын
Non Omnes. Some people say you should replace both, but I haven't had any problem with the other side. In this part of the world it's usually frost or one of the many potholes in the road that cause a spring to break.

I am doing Engine swap body on at the moment in my Discovery 3 TDV6. This way looks quicker. Engine should go in tomorrow all things going well.
@61special Жыл бұрын
Hi Jamie Boyd Music. I hope all goes well for you. It was our first time taking the body off and it was below freezing, which didn't help. It's not that difficult to take the body off, providing you have a lift. Our donor engine was out of a Jaguar so there was quite a lot of work swapping all the ancillaries over. Good luck.
@jamieboydmusic6956 Жыл бұрын
Same as you I used a Ford Territory Engine so there was a lot of swapping over. All went well. The hardest part was getting the first couple of transmission bolts on and making sure we didn’t jam up the torque converter. Once that happened. I fitted the driver side engine mount (generator/alternator side) and it was pretty easy from there. The heat shields under the front guards caused a bit of anxiety. LOL I am a month or so down the track now and just towed a 2.5T Caravan 120km 2 days ago and it pulled like a train. Love my Discovery!
@61special Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear it all went well. We had a problem with losing coolant...we'd left off one of the radiator hose clips, but found it before she over heated. She's done a couple of thousand trouble free miles, much of that towing a tri-axle trailer.
