Couldn't miss the -40°C in the dash 😂 the first owner must have spent some changes to build this individual 7er.. I always like to see these once expensive barges being resurrected to it's former glory. Good luck!

Great vid. Thumbnail needs to be about the car. Use the exterior shot from 10secs and your CTR% should go up 🤞 as a bonus, add a biohazard logo in the corner x Edit - ah! I see you’ve already done that on all your best performing videos 👌 nicely done! Do the same for this one 🙏

Don't worry you're not the only one who sees opportunities in these neglected cars ☺ I do like the you vs mechanic style, so i subbed. Also i'm interested to see how to remove the headliner, coz mine is sagging and i would like to replace it. What to do with the donor car? If you got the space for it, maybe keep it around until the N62 is complete. Thanx 👍

Thank you very much for sharing Martin, this is a very well structured and useful video. Will you be able to give your opinion about the following questions please? Is the servicing for the 1.6 tdi superb engine the same or similar to what you showed here? and is the 1.6tdi engine as good as the 2.0tdi to last beyond 200 000 miles or will it last less and give more trouble in a big car like the superb estate? Thanks in advance for your time reading this comment and questions
@martinandmechanic6 күн бұрын
Thank you that you liked my video, to be honest I don’t have that much info regarding 1.6 TDI engine but I think there are a lot of similarities comparing to 2.0 TDI. I remember back in the days when I was working for company that had Škoda Octavia 1.6 TDI l, there wasn’t any issue besides regular service. Sorry for late response, but sometimes I overlook some comments.

Hello, Martin Do you not need to grease the back side of the brake pad? (On the shims) because all other vehicles or on other brake job videos mostly apply grease but it doesnt seem to be the same on BMW's. Im just very curious and confused. Thanks!

I don’t get why cars are so much cheaper in your country. £1400 is roughly R33k in south africa. These cars even at high mileage still fetch over R100k here

I own the same car and have also done some of that work. Here in Portugal we don't have the rust problem, mine's body it's 100% new. Mine it's a silver gray 2010, Skoda Superb Elegance Estate with the 6 speed manual transmission and the CBBB engine (2.0TDI - 125Kw) and 270.000Kms on the clock

Why does it need control arms with only 34k miles on it? That's absurd. Something like that should last 100k miles or more.

They can last 100k miles, but the overall comfort of the car will not.

Hey! Nice video really. Just a small advice. Never put any grease on ATE dry guide pins. They are meant to be dry. The force of rubber actually pulls brake pads sligtly from calliper when the brake is not used. With the grease on the guide pin this doesn't work and brake pads will always touch brake rotor which eventually results in overheating of rotors and vibrations during braking. 90% of mechanics make this mistake. Also use only genuine ATE rubber part of guide pins. The correct compound of rubber and grooves inside are essential to proper function.
