I owned this E65 730D Sport back in 2018 to early 2019. Bar a small battery drain that BMW said they'd fixed (soft close / keyless entry handles) it was a good car in my short ownership. I fitted those HEL braided brake lines too... Shame it's no longer original and on the Style 149s I had refurbished. They suited the car really well

It’s nice that this content is reaching to the previous owners of this 7-series, glad to hear that you liked it. I like it too, very much. But why did you fit those HEL brake lines 😂. Actually at the moment it’s got those style 149 wheels. But I’m looking to put there the Individual style 152 wheels.

@@martinandmechanic Because the OEM lines were cracked and HEL lines (apart from being very good and very well made with all stainless fittings) were available more readily than OEM lines (had to order them from BMW Germany) at that time! Braided brake lines give a much better brake feel than OEM do; they've always been my personal preference

i think its worth keeping these old e65 e66 on the road. A lot of people say they are terrible but they are really pioneers in the luxury segment. probably the most comfortable car i have ever sat in, a lot more than cars worth over 60-70k modern luxury.

How do I fix the boot rubber ring around the hinge? I think I need to fix/replace that to shut out some water in the multimedia sektion..

As I noticed in your video , u have Android MMI , how is it working ? Logic 7 wouldn’t be affected by android unit ?

Thank you, It was replaced by previous owner, it’s not original BMW option.

The MOST ring can be debugged much easier using factory diagnostic equipment or similar quality tool. This needs knowledge of some intricate details of the system setup, but you don't need to remove all the equipment and internal trim panels. However, never, never, ever work or stay under a car supported by a jack, particularly not a hydraulic jack. It's life or death, seriously. Finally, lug nuts or wheel bolts shall never be installed using power tools. You should install them by hand and torque them properly. Furthermore, they should be torqued gradually and in a jumping pattern, to avoid improper alignment of the wheels. And use a long tool protected by plastic tube to avoid damaging the alloy wheels. By the way, the car is really beautiful, I hope you managed to bring it back to its former glory.

Yes I know that the MOST can be diagnosed easily by ISTA, but I wanted to show that it can be done even in home environment without expensive tools. When I’m working under the car, it’s always secured with something, either it’s a jack stand or I just put a wheel under the body, it’s even visible in the video. Lastly, for tightening the lug nuts I’m using the tool with max power 47Nm which is almost third of needed torque value and then I’m using torque wrench with needed specification. If you asking on the Le Mans Blue 7-series, It’s back on the road, I sorted most of the electronic issues and now I’m about to retrofit some Individual parts. I will post video about it, but it takes some time.

It’s back on the road, I sorted most of the electronic issues and now I’m about to retrofit some Individual parts such as leather dashboard and door panels. I will post video about it, but it takes some time. I was busy lately.

That E65 is not bad... nice color... but - it's not an Individual model...

Thank you, but this E65 is the Individual model, It’s got the Individual tag above VIN number. Back then when you were buying the new BMW and you chose something from Individual options, for example in my case Individual paintwork colour Le Mans Blue, the BMW was tag like Individual model.

@@martinandmechanic I do own two E66 Individual. Plus: I‘m a 7 series owner since 1998. Got my first E65 in 2002… If your car is painted in an ‚Individual‘ color it will have the color code sticker in the engine compartment saying ‚Individual‘. Fair enough. But your car does neither have one if the Individual interior packages nor does it feature Individual wheels. So in the end what you have is just an E65 w/ an Individual body paint code.

But it’s still the Individual model. It’s like BMW with the Individual interior but with basic colour, does it makes it non Individual then? What if I tell you that I got the door sill plates with illuminated BMW Individual tag fitted from factory, is it then the Individual model?

@@martinandmechanic if it was an Individual vehicle it would have at least a roof liner from Alcantara. Grey leather interior was never part of an Individual page either.
