I specialized in high-end off grid power systems for over 25 years and you certainly have my compliments. Really nice job all the way around. I always love these big jobs.

I have my house batteries linked in series 6 volt to 6 volt, the electrician recommended. I run an electric pot hauler that pulls 80 amps. I have significant voltage drop when pulling my shrimp pots. I think I needed to change to 12 volt batteries and go parallel. I reached out to the electrician that installed my current system but haven’t heard back from him. I’ve been using both engine an house battery banks to haul the shrimp pots. I switch them back after hauling gear. Any recommendations for 12 volt batteries to use?

Hello Aaron and Christina. My name is Lindsay White and I'm 69 years old. I'm very interested in joining the RV life. I follow you guys and you are by far one of my favorite KZfaq channels. In the Military, I was a Fuel & Electrical Systems Specialist. Please let me help with a Powerful Suggestion: 1. Great Solar should be secondary. 2. Primary Power should be DC to DC charging. The GC3 battery BMS, is rated for 300 amp hours continuous. Meaning you can charge them with a lot of power. That's extremely powerful!! 3. You guys have a new Diesel Truck and you should use it to supply power to your RV! Especially when you're on the go and the weather is bad. You could do it quite safely and efficiently. 4. MY SUGGESTION; to get a secondary Alternator install professionally. Perhaps a BALMAR XT-Series 250 Amp/12 Volt Alternator. Set up TWO Victron Orion XS 12/12-50A DC-DC Battery Charger. That will give you 100 amp hours of power going into your batteries as you move from park to park. Or you can just idle your truck when you're low on power. Nate from Explorer's Life shows people how to set up two DC to DC chargers. God Bless you Guys 🙏

Looking for advice. I have installed two 100 amp lithium batteries in my travel trailer, my TV is a Ram 1500 hemi, 2017. I have a DC TO DC 40 Amp charger installed in the trailer. The power is supplied through the power on the 7 pin plug wire, which has a 30 amp fuse at the truck battery. My battery monitor shows the lithium batteries being charged at around 30 amps, when the truck is running and the DC TO DC turned on. Am I ok, or will either the lithium batteries or the DC to DC damage the 7 pin wiring, or truck alternator.? I have not done any long trips as yet, just the idle tests. I am happy with the charge rate, so I don't feel I need to run heavier wires from the truck battery. Any comments would be appreciated.

Wow, if my math is close, 207kwh / 3.24kwh per battery = ~64 batteries. Each battery is $2,499 so that would be about $160,000 USD in just batteries alone. Holy crap.
