The position of the base is important and you didn't really touch on that other than to build it on the opposite side of 95% of everything you'll be going after.. way to go there champ! Tips Guide should be just that. A good tip is where to build on the island.. lol

Very helpful. I have a follow up question can you build more than one base location and if you do which one will they attack the one closest to your location or the one you started with where your bed is?

In my first, go round, I built on top of the cliffs on the island, so I built five buckets so I could do all the sea water runs in one go. Now I’m thinking that was a bit overkill.

Not 10 seconds in in this video has already changed my gameplay. I whacked at those trees for I thought forever. I didn’t think you could cut them down to be honest.

So the roof pieces are only a 1x1 square??? That's worthless! What if you have a large room and you want to build a peaked roof? You mean the devs meant for people to only have 1x1 rooms? Can you imagine a roof made up of (10) 1x1 roof pieces??? This is not explained in your video and feel a big miss in the game.

Thanks for the video. I also prefer building from the shore onto the water. However, I do have a couple critiques about your design. First of all, I see no reason not to start off with all scrap metal walls. In the beginning, scrap metal is a much more reliable and abundant resource. In fact, until you get a tree farm it remains the most abundant material. Additionally, scrap metal is much tougher to destroy than wood. With metal walls, barbed wire and wall spikes are unnecessary. I often do start with a wooden bridge, because i don't really care if those panels get destroyed. They can easily be replaced. Secondly, I do all my defensive fighting from a second floor. So I put up half walls all around the second floor. Once the enemy gets ranged weapons, it's dangerous not to have half cover. I don't bother with windows on the lower floors for two reasons. First of all they can shoot through the windows and damage manufacturing items inside. Secondly, and this just started happening with the new 2.0 release, I've had enemies jump up from the water through my window into my base. That was bad. Once they kill you from inside, they will often camp your respawn bed. Not good. And finally, I've kinda stopped using a dock for the same reason. I've seen enemies jump up from the water onto the dock, even if there is no ladder. I certainly wouldn't put my research table, grill or anything like that outside on the dock. They are easy targets. I did like your use of wall spikes, but it still leaves a big hole for them to jump onto your dock. And one more minor critique. If you put walls out in front of your base, you won't be able to shoot the enemies attacking those walls from your rooftop. You will be forced to go meet them hand-to-hand. I try to avoid that. Thanks for the video though. I always appreciate alternative ideas for base defenses.

dont forget that all the blueprints have the "can craft" number. once you craft them all, that blueprint disappears

Building in this game gets a -2/10 currently because stairs aren't dimensioned properly and will always clip. You can only build up, you cannot build down. You can't even snap a foundation to a floor.

There's way more available scrap metal than there is wood early game.

Personally I built a 3x4 on top of the rocks on castaway island that way they could only attack from one direction and I just simply built up ways as I progressed not out ways Guess it’s my ark survival evolved PvP mindset

bad base, better u build on the rock and the only jop u must is shooting the enemys so u need no walls and other defens stuff - simple

Blueprints go away after a set amount of uses, when you inspect one you can see it says "Can craft X"

Does anyone know if it has partial or full controller support ? Is there any news of it? Asking cause I saw a single post of one guy saying he got a xbox remote to work through steam and was able to do allot of stuff using it . On steam it doesn't mention full or partial support . Since the game is so similar to ark and ark was controller playable and rust too so was curious .
