I just found your channel. Thank you so much for being a good TEACHER! I have watched hundreds of cabinet videos to help me DIY my own kitchen cabinets and they show tips and tricks and how they do it. But almost always the people in the video don't explain why they do things and the totality of the project becomes overwhelming. Your step by step instructions, explanations of each process, and descriptions of the terms you use inspires confidence so I can move forward with each step. Mind you, I'm commenting after watching several of your videos, so this is a culmination comment! 😊 Thank you again!

Great video. I learned using a tape measure when I was a kid. I have a small woodshop where I've converted to metric though. Still have to use imperial everywhere else though.

I've heard it said, why learn fractions since we will never use them in our daily lives. Carpentry is all about fractions, decimals, angles, and curves. Thanks for your Comment.

Unless you are a cabinet maker or doing some specialized carpentry, all you really need to know is, 1/16 1/8- 1/4- 3/8- 1/2- 5/8 -3/4 -7/8 And that's even a stretch.....

Most people don't know how to use a jigsaw most use them improperly which leads to ugly crickets cuts but when you see someone who knows what they're doing with it they can make some beautiful stuff

Try using a down cut blade. The tesrout ends up on the back side of the material.

Well, for safety: make sure there is no tension on the cord and keep the cord away from the material and saw!

Even though I only covered "Blum" hinges in this video, there are restrictors available for most brands of hinges made today. Just find the brand name on the hinge or call the dealer that sold you the cabinets to identify the part # and you should be able to locate them.

Now this is an awesome tip! I didn’t know they had these for cabinets. Thank you for sharing this!

Great but how do you explain that for small measurements, you suddenly switch to the decimal system (thousands of an inch)😮 why not keep fraction i.e 1/1024 of an inch for example 😂

Sooo happy to be in a Country that uses Metric.

Just wondering if they had divided an inch in 10 equal parts rather than 16 it would made everyone's life easy
