Your opening look reminds me of 4 the last clone of Doug from the movie Multiplicity with Michael Keaton.

I have one of these models. It was my uncle’s favorite, he always talked about running it once he had enough space to but he passed away a year ago. It hasn’t been run in probably a decade but I’ve held onto it since then. Matter of fact, he really liked your channel too. He’d always show me reviews and thought your layout was really cool, he wanted to have something like it eventually. I wish we’d gotten there but not everything goes the way we want it to.

Detachable? Who in their right mind would though? I’d leave it on even if I had a desert layout. Lol

I agree, but you know if it wasn’t detachable people would complain lol

Great model! Thanks Eric! I hope to find the connection of history for Burlington’s logo and Colorado Southern. Its funny how the unique features like the plow dial collectors in. I’m guilty! Neat distinction to the Consolidation line. Happy runnings.

My favorite train movie is the 1975 film "the bullet train", it maybe gets more focus in the antagonist but it's still a very cool movie. It also gives you an little explenation of how bullet trains work before the opening credits.

Lionel really went hard on the road-specific details with this model. Makes it almost hard to choose a favorite.

I’m glad I didn’t pre order this. Instead I waited for the next catalog and was rewarded with the ACCURATELY MODELED READING SD45 in 2024, finally with the extended cab. Got a $600 Series X awaiting pre-order, a scale wheel Atlas “O” 4015 (SD70M) on pre order with Mr.Muffins, and the Reading SD45 with Legacy Station (7603 to be exact). I’m done with my pre orders for 2024. 🤣

Hi Eric I have a MTH Angus 0880 I need. A little bit of help the other night I had it running on my layout and all of a sudden it just stopped in its tracks and came off the active screen and went to inactive list an now I can not get it back what a big pain.

I would love to see engines like these sent to model makers who know how to weather with story. Adding rust lines on drains and dirt where it would be kicked up by moving parts. An expert weathering job like that could easily be worth the same price as the locomotive itself

Ok, dumb question of the day.... I couldn't help knowticing the Lionel Legacy sticker on the tender, is that something new ? All the videos I've watched and I don't recall seeing that.... Probably just me ???? Stay safe, RR
@EricstrainsКүн бұрын
These days it’s usually either on the underside of the tender or the engine. They started that maybe 5 or so years ago…maybe more. It’s usually on the engine.

Sure, the GS-4’s pulled the daylight but this is what you would find pulling 98/99 (the Daylight train numbers)

Very nice. That is a good looking locomotive and the plow makes it even nicer. Like all newer locomotives, it really smokes-up a storm, which is pretty cool. It looks great running around your layout and would be a fine addition to any layout, modeling that region. As usual, the #1 bell and whistle are the most prototypical. The other bells just don't sound right, too tinny and flat. The other whistles are pretty good, except #4, which sounds way too European. Other than that, they are just too 'throaty' for this locomotive. An excellent video, as always.

Can a dummy o gauge coupler work on the back of the tender?
@EricstrainsКүн бұрын
A dummy coupler will work just fine, you just can’t open it. It’s permanently closed.

I prefer the remake of The Lady Vanishes, by Hammer Films. It is the same story, set in the same time, but in colour, and with British stars. This was the last film that Hammer made, they were best known for horror films, but made comedies, as well as some other films. Train of Events is good, about different people on a train, from London Euston to Liverpool, the events leading up to them being on the train, and the train crashes, and what happens to these people. This is an old Ealing film, but not a comedy, as they were known for. The Titfield Thunderbolt, where the real star of this film is a locomotive called The Lion. One of the original locomotives from the Liverpool to Manchester railway. Ealing films had some fun with this comedy, with a number of British stars. Spike Milligan has some good scenes, and Sid James is also in this film. I think that these films should have been in the list, although I favour British films.

I wish they would put a delay in the crew talk for the brake test They ask for a set and then immediately say good set, release. And then immediately say good brake test Air brakes take time to set and release so I wish they’d simulate that in crew talk
