I guess this would work if you’re trying to knock out two birds with one stone, you’ll still have some hand work to work it into the carpet and edges. I would try and see if anyone else has done something similar before potentially ruining your carpet.

Hasn’t faded or worn color, would recommend having floor mats to prevent long term wear

To others watching, always spray some Starting Fluid (or flammable contact cleaner) in the combustion chamber prior to first start. She'll fire rightt up.

Why were the carbs pouring gas towards the end? I’m fighting the exact same issue on my 81’ right now

Either float needles aren’t seating to stop flow of gas, or vaccum lines are plugged between carbs

@@alexsgarage1 appreciate the fast af response im rebuilding my carbs as we speak. Were leaking out of the hole by the choke butterflies I assume?

Yup, that’s the overflow for those carbs. Comes up into the vacuum slide area and down and out.

Clean the float valve chambers again. I had same issue on my '81 650. Solved it (after full carb rebuild). I have many videos about it.

Was a long process putting it back together and didn’t film a video unfortunately. But was put together and the car actually ran so I’d call it a success

I used a kiddy pool to dye the carpet in my 89 mustang from beige to black turned out great. The dye I used was from Walmart also but it was a powder.

Have you tried fuel injector cleaner? And the gas could be old if it's been sitting for years.

Did a video on cleaning injectors. When I bought the car first thing I did was drop the fuel tank because I knew it would be rusty and varnished. Replaced tank and used fuel injector cleaner with new gas but still didn’t quite do the trick.

Make sure you keep that single stack exhaust if that’s original, that’s a 98 only option and rare as hell. Also if you notice that noise after you change your tires check your wheel bearings and make sure your axles aren’t scarred. My 2000 sounded very similar before I did mine. Now granted, I’ve put my rear through numerous clutch dumps and broken several torque arms. If there’s one upgrade I’d do before you get to bearing on it is definitely get the UMI torque arm relocation kit, it’s worth it. The torque arm bolt goes directly into the transmission housing and likes to back out after rowdy driving and getting it back through that clamshell is a bitch and a half. I managed to reattach mine then snap it off the rear itself driving like a dumbass so make sure you do some supporting mods if you wanna do burnouts or slides in that car

Thanks for the advice, alright had thoughts of getting a different exhaust but I guess I’ll keep it a bit longer.
