I still believe your pictures need to be on the eBird bird pictures list.

Owls perspective: How to identify this mammal in Pennsylvania during April. The adult has a sideways oval shaped head, with hair on the top and maybe some on the bottom of its head, only limiting it to some, with its usual upright pose and arms on the top and legs on the bottom, and last but not least, a camera in this mammals hand, making it a Human. (Homo sapiens)

OH MY GOD MY FAVORITE BIRD OF ALL TIME!!!

I agree. Kestrels are stunning. Love their markings. I live in a somewhat rural area and occasionally see them perched on power lines looking for prey.

@@gourddrawing I live in an urban area and we have a small local park. There is a pair that lives there and I call them Mama and Papa. They are my very very favorites. ❤️❤️

I live on Chesapeake Bay. These beautiful birds are everywhere, and over the last 30 years, the Bald Eagles have come back very strong.

The ospreys are definitely screwed if you are seeing both bald eagles and ospreys.

I live in Philly, and I see them occasionally. I've seen Golden Eagles here several times. We have Red Tail Hawks and some kinda Falcon, too. Those Falcons hunt in Center City. Where our skyscrapers are. They straight up smash Pigeons.

This is a bird.

In the perched juv red-shouldered vs broad-winged you neglected to mention the most useful difference. Notice the pattern in the wing feathers, particularly the secondaries. In shoulders there is the same light & dark pattern in shades of gray that adults show in black & white. In broadies the wing feathers are solid-colored with just a very thin light edging. This is foolproof.

Rock run water maintains a temperature of approximately 55 degrees year round. I’ve fallen in multiple times.
@richardking23979 күн бұрын
That figures since 55F is the temperature of the ground year round below the frost line. (cellar temperature)

That cemetery was a result of the aggressive logging going on at the time. Further inspection would have found many infants and young children dying most likely from disease and maybe exposure. There was no quick trip back to civilization or medical help. So these folks lived and died on that mountain. Glad you found it. I haven’t been able to find it in 20 years. Anyway, we can get a pin drop for the cemetery. We reported it back in 1999 to the County looking for more information but came up short. Again, most likely a logging cemetery. Imagine living up there in the 1860s?!

This is exactly the type of KZfaq video format I have been looking for. I subscribe to several channels, and I am certainly a birder. But while birding, I am constantly looking at plants, insects, fungi, geology, etc. I agree with you; more people should get outdoors and soak in all aspects of nature rather than solely focusing on one thing. I also record my sightings regularly on iNaturalist.
