Nice restoration of a family antique tool. Great participation by the latest of your families generation. Keep up the great work.

Thank you for this video. I have an identical model torch, although from a different brand. It's ready for restoration and I was hoping to find something to guide me. You did an outstanding job on your torch. I hope I can do half so well. I really want it for a tool in the shop. I blacksmith for a hobby and these torches are very useful.

I hope you see this but I have a few questions as I'm in the process of making usable one of these old torches as well. First I was wondering what you replaced the lead gasket with. Second, what was the little rubber bit you punched out and where can I find a sheet of rubber like that? And last, where did you find that "wick" material that sort of looks like a fine cotton rope? Thanks!

Just picked up the same model torch yesterday with the idea of cleaning it up and making it a user again. Thank you for the time you put into this beautiful restoration!

Does any body. Know were I can get parts for those torches - just need the leather on the pumps - I know there easy enough to make but haven't gotten around to it - I've found those torches to be very useful - I've used both of mine for at least 60 yrs or so --

I have an older hot foil stamp machine needs new cord hopefully that's all it needs. Then I go to buy older antique Hot stamps and then they're literally non-existent except for like a handful. I did not particularly like the ones they had SO waiting to find a cool older one to use with my machine. I think they started this back in the 1800s? I'm not sure I have to do more research on the antique and bossing dies.

Mine is in worse condition and I don't have the necessary tools to do what you did. I'll just keep it as a shabby object for conversation.

Hey I've got an old Turner blow torch exactly like the one you restored in an earlier video. I really want to restore it myself but I don't have the tools, the materials, or the know-how. I would really love to get it restored and I was wondering if you could restore it for me. It was one of the few gifts I received from my grandfather. I am willing to pay a fair price if you would like to discuss pricing.

Great video - thanks for posting it! I am restoring a similar drill and this gave me some much-needed ideas for how to take apart (and re-assemble) the knob from the crank shaft.
Amazing restoration job you did restoring that hot foil press, particularly when you took the heating element apart without damaging the mica insulation and connected a new appliance cord to it. That, in itself, is amazing. It took a lot of hard work and patience. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work as usual.

Really nice job, looks great. I did however notice one small error. The little leather cup you made for the primer should have the smooth side of the leather on the outside. Being turned the other side around might not work as intended.

Bext time put a nut on that screw after you mark it in the scissors, but before you cut it off, the next removing the nut will push and damaged threads from cutting back to where they should be, good bid3o!

Great thanks. I metal detect and have a few rusted finds that need identifying and was not sure how to do this. Have more cables in the house than I know what to do with.

Probably nicer now than it was new! You should track down the pipe jaws and cut-off tool, that's really a gem! I hope mine comes out half as nice!!

I just picked up the same one at a flea market! I had the same urge to make it some beautiful shelf art, but after watching your involved video I’ve decided this thing is meant to be dirty and I’d better just leave it that way. But I do intend on making it reliable to use at the least, so I really appreciate this video for seeing all the inner workings!

Recently restored one of these! Not quite to your level though lol. Makes me wish I had a buffing wheel! Also didn’t know they were made in sycamore! That’s pretty local to me

Where can I get the leather and the rubber that you used for the pump rebuild? Drawing a blank here...

I LIKE how you do your restoration - More practical than for looks. It annoys me when someone restores a tool to where it's too beautiful to actually use! For Dies - you might find a local HOBBY Machinist who could make them for you! Or you could get them made from thinner brass by water-jet or laser cutting, then silver-solder them to a thicker block of brass. I bet a book-binder - particularly one who does custom or restoration binding, would LOVE a machine like this!
