The present govt is the only govt we have so far that shows a genuine effort towards being moderate. I dont see any in the previous govt with the exception of the initial term of Tengku Abdul Rahman. His moderate govt was undermined by the chauvinistic ultra-Malay Mahathir and his UMNO campatriots.

What do you mean a moderate Muslim? Is he the one who does not pray 5 times a day? But on 2.5 times. Is she the one who does not believe in the 5 pillars of Islam? or does not fast for 30 days but only 15 days? Malaysia is an Islamic country period and Non Muslims can leave if they don't like it here.

Malaysia stop becoming a moderate country the moment they brought in more and more people from Indonesia, especially. Even Bangladeshi are moderate to ensure that their views of Islam are voiced within their own circles without including Malays but Indonesians are not like that. They always had this view that Malaysia is part of Indonesia (refer to Malindo concept) since 1960s and therefore, they walk all over Malaysia like they own the place. Those of us who have taken those deceitful blinders off can clearly see that Malaysia is NOT moderate. Its sliding closer and closer to extremism. Its only going to get worse when you open the borders for extremists from overseas to flourish here under the banner of Islam.
