Some "economical" people stick their scribing tape onto some trimmed-to-size Tamiya tape which you can stick and unstick several times more often than scribing tape alone.

I know it's been 3 years since you've made this video but was hoping you might be able to point me in the direction of where you got the hull profile plan you show early on in this video. I have the Webb plans but they're at 1/192 scale and I'm hesitant to chop them up to fit in a scanner or copier. Any help would be appreciated! I'm hoping to correct the hull for my next project.

As Annie noted, they do 20pks of: Coarse (10x100 + 10x180), Medium(10x240 + 10x320) or Fine (10x400 + 10x600)

Here in the US, I get Swizzel Stick Sanders from Stevens International in Canada. I prefer their multi-color 5 grit packs. When I need something wider and with finer grits, I use the Bandai Spirits mini sticks or their full size sticks.

You're absolutely right about Aerospace being ruined by the bean counters. Back in the day when Engineering was running things, we say real innovation. Now all we hear about is cost savings. This was one of the reasons I retired; I saw what was happening and wanted no part of it.

Excellent glue up tips there. Especially the cocktail sticks! I seem to have some areas of dried Tamiya extra thin that is now a thin clear film (overdid the extra thin I would think). What do you do here? Just leave them or a fine sand over? Thanks!

Light sand with a fine stick will sort it.

Hi Nigel loving the build, torn between starting on the Gannet or the Dam Buster that are in my stash. I can really empathise with your comments regarding cost over quality in engineering. One of my main reasons for retiring from civil engineering was the outsourcing of design abroad. I was a specialist in a bespoke highway design package, along come the bean counters “ I’m sure our friends abroad would be able to produce the designs quicker and cheaper than us in the uk can you go and train them ? “Reluctantly I agreed to go only for my trip to be cancelled at the last minute as they had found someone locally to do the training, you guessed it CHEAPER ! To cut a long story short a number of design packages were sent away and when the “completed “ designs were returned they were absolute garbage and had to be redesigned in the uk.

Hi Yep go out of sequence and fit the nose as soon as you can. It’s not a bad fit but it’s not as perfect as the rest of the kit it needs a little tweak to get it right so you can’t drop it in last moment.
