I’ve just started over the last year working on growing my own hosta collection!💚 But here in Maine we are typically very rainy and humid during our spring and summer, which means our hostas are always guaranteed to have at least one or two slugs munching away 😅 Thank you for some great hosta inspiration as I make my fall shopping list! ❤

Beautiful, thanks for sharing! I also have a 'Captain Kirk' that isn't. 😊 It's just green, like yours. I don't remember if I got it at Walmart, or Menards...there must have been a mix-up at the supplier, or something. 😅

Thanks for sharing your hostas. The newer mulch really contrasts well with them. How much time do you dedicate a week on working in your yard? I think we average like 2 hours each day. Your yard is way bigger...and growing, so it has to be more :) When all the work is done, it is so nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy!
@serenitynowgarden361811 күн бұрын
Hi Scott! Well, I guess it depends on the weather and how many projects I have going... I am probably working in my garden every other day. Sometimes just for 30 minutes during the week and a few hours on the weekends. I try to focus on one area a week to weed and tidy up.

Everything looks great and your astilbe are amazing! What brand of deer/rabbit spray do you use and how often? The rabbits this year are terrible in my yard...
@serenitynowgarden361818 күн бұрын
Thank you so much 😊 I use liquid fence. I get the concentrate and mix it in a 2 gallon sprayer, that makes it easier. It smells really bad until it dries. The instructions say to spray weekly twice, then every 30 days after that. It is supposed to work even after a rain. But I have been using it more often just in case, maybe every 2-3 weeks.

Sorry about the flooding :( It is frustrating after all that work and nurturing. We have been dealing with rabbits trying to munch on our zinnias.
@serenitynowgarden361824 күн бұрын
Thanks, Scott :) It is frustrating. I am currently working on a raised bed garden design though, that will help next year. Can't wait to share it. What's up with all the rabbits this year, lol? Is it just me or are there like triple or quadruple the amount of rabbits compared to an average year?
@scottmiller909824 күн бұрын
Are you going to post a video of you planting the planter? I always enjoy those videos as well! They inspired me to do 2 planters by our front door this year and last year. This year we did all blue and white flowers in them.

Sorry, I didn't film it. Your planters sound gorgeous. I used Regal Shield Elephant Ear, Dichondra Silver Falls, New Guinea impatiens, and Perilla Magilla. So far this is my favorite planter I have done. :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
