Ummmmm…. does he understand WHY chatterbaits are so effective? It’s because their vibrations will draw fish in. That means you DON’T have to be as accurate & precise with them as you do with something quieter.

The goon has it's days. I've found that rather than the lure shape/color, presentation matters more when the fish aren't feeling it. That's harder than it sounds though.

Tried this knot several times this morning b4 fishing. It failed under a pull test with gloved hands while the royal polaris knot held. I like this knot & will use it for rockfishing maybe & halibut but for the heavy stuff sticking with the fg & the jansek special for hardware/lures. Thx it really is a nice & very small knot.

When y'all said "Closest thing to fly fishing" I immediately thought about Hawaiian Whipping style fishing. I have recently added Hawaiian Whipping fly casting in my fishing toolbox for finicky reds.

Z Man is tough and catches fish. But I wish it got bites like Gulp. If we could combine the 2 and make a tough bait that gets bites like Gulp it would be better than bait.

How well would a chatterbait work for saltwater? I haven’t tried it but this bait makes me curious and also I think we need it in the mud minnow color!

Love Venice but Hackberry La is about 4 hours closer. I’d love to see your take on fishing the marsh in muddy water. I’ve always had good luck however I’d like to learn more and have more options in the chocolate milk we find in the marshes of Hackberry. I am a kayak fisherman to going out into Big lake is not ideal. Thanks for any insight

The drag sounds jerky, and the action of your hand and rod when the drag is jerked against reflects this. I have the new TP C3000XGFE and the prior generation TP C2000SHG and even an older 2013 Certate 2510R-PE, and the drag on all of these reels sound more consistent and smoother even with smaller river smallies and TN hybrids than this Sustain. Also, "Hagane body" is NOT indicative of cold forged metal body, but rather, it means the gears may be cold forged. Based upon what a Shimano rep shared with me, only the Stella hagane body, has cold forged metal body.

I don't see it on their website for Louisiana. I live in Plaquemine's parish and fish a lot of the areas you go to and use a standard mapping la1 card. my newest boat has a Garmin and the la1 card is perfect. I would like to se a link to the Louisiana card and compare to my current.

How do you deal with a snag that wont come undone when you have that high strength of a leader? I always feel like I need some class tippet or something to be able to break off if needed.
